I'm asking because Toyota has been known forever as the most dependable vehicle. Let me ask you this... why does Hyundai have the best warranty in america then? If Toyota is the king why not 5 years/60,000 miles bumper to bumper every year? Your thoughts...

Look folks I own a Taco and I wouldn't trade if for the world, but if I'm Mr. Toyota and I make great vehicles, I would back them up with the same warranty every year. And that warranty would be the best in the world every year. Am I missing something?

I too have wondered why Hyundai has the best warranty. Obviously they think that their products are as good as or better than the competition.

Toyota should step up and retroactively increase everyones warranty to macth Hyundai's. :D That would send some signals.

Sure it does. Long warranties sell as they give the impression that the manufacturer is standing behind their product. Very few of those people actually read the fine print however, and Hyundai's warranty is full of disclaimers and triggers for voiding coverage.

Yes they are, actually, moreso every year.

They have been steadily improving on quality in both professional reviews and customer reviews year on year. They have been steadily improving in build quality, features, and design.

They very much remind me of Toyota and Honda of the 80s. Honda never lost their way...Toyota's quality has remained intact but some of their design and strategic decisions these days have been very poor (6 billion compact models, thinking the Yaris was a good idea, etc.)

Toyota sells trucks, Hyundai doesn't (here)...

Toyota sells more because of reputation, not because it offers a longer warantee.

Ted Nelson, Customer: But why do they put a guarantee on the box?
Tommy: Because they know all they sold ya was a guaranteed piece of shit. That's all it is, isn't it? Hey, if you want me to take a dump in a box and mark it guaranteed, I will. I got spare time. But for now, for your customer's sake, for your daughter's sake, ya might wanna think about buying a quality product from me.
