You bet, the red ones I had on were 4” and it looked fine. The gold ones are 6” and do look better. Just make sure you clean the area with an alcohol prep to clean the area to remove wax/soap and such.

Well, I don't want them larger than the SCS decals I'm putting on.

    Thanks for the install tip!

So my thoughts thus far are some gold trd bedsides like these, with my state logo, and 'scs edition' on it! I already hit up a vinyl vendor to see if he can do the metallized gold film. If not I'll just get these on eBay and slap an scs sticker beside it.

@SCSPerformance can you guys do the metallized gold? And smaller sizes by chance?

Man that's a freaking excellent idea! I hope you don't mind if I copy some of this from you? I already have some black SCS decals waiting to go on once the weather breaks and I can wash the truck.

I'm also on the Maryland Taco thread and there is a guy there that makes a bed side decal that incorporates our state outline with the state flag as the image. I was going to do the same thing you are are doing and go with copper text and black outlines to pull in whatever other black decals I add. I saw a Nitto decal on ebay too. And I want to keep adding to the collection.

Also, there are a couple guys on here that do vinyl. One I have used is @rrentrop. His stuff is quality and very reasonable. He may be able to help. Another guy I read a lot about for custom work is @CBoy808. A lot of guys say his work is top notch. I am betting either of them could help us out.

Since I am at it, I will have to remove the factory pinstripes since they are silver to match the bed decals. I like pin strips though. If I could find a copper and black that would be cool.

Then ultimately ( I saw this on a guys QuickSand Taco on here that live in Hawaii) I want to add racing stripes down from the front bumper to the back. I even want perforated vinyl in Orange to match the paint to lay over the glass on the moon roof so that it looks like it has stripes where it would be black glass.

I know, I know, I have a vivid imagination. But your ideas are definitely inspiring me!

Only thing that kinda sucks on those trd decals is if they don’t cut the paper straight, it kinda makes it a pain to put on straight. While I was trying to put them on a previous truck, I’d look at the bottom cut line to try and put them on straight. Even with using a piece of tape as a guide. It wasn’t too bad just trying to warn ya...

Yea, I think the vinyl tends to stretch a little. Would a solid sheet with them printed on help in that regard? I know that's not the preferred method but.....

When I tried to put my first SCS decal on the back window, with it being 95 degrees, and me kneeling in the bed trying to reach over the rolled up X2 tonneau, I buggered the shit outta that. I hear some guys use the "wet" method for all their decals including window and bedside. I am not sure how that works though. How do you get them to dry out? Or do you just wait and over time they dry? If it is a better method and the results are guaranteed, I may do it like that from now on.

Every by vinyl sticker be ever done has gone on easy for me. I have a good hand for that kinda of stuff which I guess helps a little....or I’m just lucky. I believe when you use some water you just want to mist it onand whip as needed. It should then just dry out on its own in the sun......YouTube it

When it comes to decals on the window, I tend to just apply them as I don't care if they arnt perfect. As far as something like the "TRD" bedside decals or something, I will use the wet method. This is the basic breakdown...
    • Clean surface prior to starting (soap) to remove any dirt and other contaminants
    • Peel the decal adhesive backing piece off
    • Soak the decal in soapy water, you want to do this over water so that the slight oil base can keep it more slick
    • Soak the area completely with more soapy water that you plan to apply the decal to (bedside, door, etc.)
    • Position the decal as needed, by it being wet you can move it freely and apply more soap/liquid as needed to keep it moveable
    • Once position is acquired, take out a squeegee or credit card and slowly start from the middle and press off the water and bubbles behind the decal
    • Take a heat gun or a hair dryer and apply low heat to the decal. This will cause the decal to shrink slightly causing tiny bubbles.
    • With the small bubbles exposed, use your squeegee/credit card and continue to move these bubbles out. The key here is to bake the decal as the sun would, but you can still squeegee the bubbles out as the decal placement is still fresh
    • Repeat the heat/squeegee bubbles a few times. You will likely notice after a while there might be a few that you cant get out. Sometimes the sun can help remove these bubbles as the decal naturally sets.
    • Worst case, you can always take a small needle and pop the remaining bubbles.
This sounds like a lot, but honestly its a pretty easy process and can be relaxing depending on the quality of the vinyl.

This might be covered somewhere in these 163 pages so sorry if it has already been asked.

What is the rubbing situation with 265/75/16s on these with stock 3rd gen trdor suspension given the negative offset?

Are we talking mudflap removal, trims?

Sorry, but we don't have any vinyl in that finish. If you send in your vinyl, I can cut it for you.
