So, got back from NTB earlier with an alignment.

Apparently, the Moog tie rods we just put on can't be adjusted enough to get it in spec AND keep the steering wheel straight. So that's annoying.

Guess I'm going to look at removing these and getting something else.

Anybody replaced theirs successfully with something else? I should just need to replace the inners correct?

 

How good is your alignment shop?

 

they've always been great for me. it's NTB.

they even took me back there and showed me while he was adjusting it why he couldn't get everything perfect, and it's because the tie rod ran out of threads.

we noticed this when matching up these Moog's with the factory ones in length, that the nut was at the very end of the threads to be the same length as what was on my truck.

 

I got my cali-raised side projecting pods in today! ready to get those installed.

 

Got my tie rod situation fixed (basically corrected my dumbass mistake), and getting another alignment today.

 

Don't be too hard on yourself - it happens to all of us. That is we (at least the smart ones) learn.

 

Oh I've learned, and I can change a tie rod like a boss now
