I know you can renew online in an emissions year if you drive past the mobile stations. The renewal card they send says you passed the roadside tests and when you pay online it tacks on $25 for the test. I forgot to do it this year though and I'm pretty sure it's testing year for me, so I'll be seeing if I can still do it online or not.

ETA: Nevermind, I'm more awake. Yes, you have to go in for your driver's license periodically because they want updated photos and a fingerprint now for the REAL ID bullshit.

That building has all the Colorado state offices, welfare, driver's license, etc. Hard to know why all those people are there. You go to the Larimer County building at Mountain and Mason to renew your license plates.

My GF works for the State. I'm going to show her this post of yours so that the next time we all get together there will be an awkward silence.

So, did you apply or not? :D

I think I would totally lose it if I walked in and saw Brett sitting behind the window.

Front range weather says the mountains have been getting pounded with snow...

Reality: not even a glimmer of hope for snow, blue skies, t-shirt weather and sunshine.

I wonder how much money the ski resorts "invest" in weather research through the weather stations.

Actually I know of some ranchers who get paid by Resorts to "seed clouds" west of some resorts. They get a call to go out and turn on a machine the resort installs on their property.

Can you pull Collin county here in Texas to compare to that? I’d be real curious how we stack up to the Denver market since we have a really hot one here too

Nope, That's the only one I can get. Former Realestate Agent set up me and a couple of buddies who have investment/ rental properties before he moved to Lake Tahoe.

I received the card in the mail saying I have to renew with the "Emissions Required" notice. I went to Colorado Air Care, passed emissions, went home and got online to renew and it allowed me.

A couple of weeks later I received the plate sticker in the mail.

I can promise that this and most every CO government agency with a service counter has asked for more funds to hire more help. This requires increase in fees or an increase in money from the general funds which requires reduction of other services or an increase in taxes. It is the legislators that typically deny that (not bureaucrats or the executive branch). Many agencies are working with non-inflation adjusted fees from the 1990's or 1980's or before. TABOR and hiring/promotion/retention/firing laws also limit improvements. Government pay, especially for highly educated positions, is way lower in the public sector and retirement benefits are being gutted year after year... It aint like the 1900's. I feel colorado's taxes are too low, especially excise tax. Our services and infrastructure and schools and state functions are behind the national average.

I now feel bad starting this thread as it likely doesn't help with moral at the DMV. I apologize. That said.... I have a friend who worked at the DMV who sent me this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0woPde7OE1k
    I am a bad person.

TABOR and the Gallagher Amendment really hurt this state.

If the pay is that bad working at the DMV, maybe you should seek employment elsewhere. :notsure:

By forcing it's government to "backdoor" tax increases by exponentially increasing "fees" and property valuations instead of putting things to a vote as intended.
    Agreed.
