Seems like a limited market for the product. Welcome though.

I see supports on tailgate. Wouldn’t the weight plus any dip damage it? I know they are not built as rigid as we would like

Thanks for the responses and here's a little feedback.

Limited market? 300,000+ midsize trucks sold per year between Toyota, Nissan and Chevy. Not to mention existing trucks that can use the universal system. You maybe right about limited but got to give it a try.

6 supports inside bed and 2 midway on tailgate. We'll check out what the weight distribution is on the tail gate supports. Good advice. Thks.

This could be a big product if its marketed correctly. Lots of contractors use midsize trucks

I wasn't referring to the amount of trucks sold, more the amount of operators that would look for a solution to the proposed problem. Contractors would/do have large trucks/trailers to haul such loads, elderly people and head strong young people do some sketchy things. So I'd say that leaves the sensible middle aged person that does their own handy man work, but I would think they are handy enough to fix the problem on their own. Can't hurt to try and good luck. I do love seeing vendors on here, not just for a potential discount, but for the exposure and R&D that can come from an enthusiastic user base.

This also could double as a truck bed platform system

I feel as though I could make something similar out of some scrap wood in my garage and it would do the same thing.

Thanks for the responses here's a liittle feedback

Tailgate weight: 20 sheets of ocb board weigh approx 1050 lbs. Their are 8 supports on system 2 on tailgate this equates to approx. 260 lbs on tail gate. Two small guys sitting on tail gate.

Yes, you could build this out of 2 x 4 and it has been done. This system stores in your garage and takes little room against the wall for next time because of fold up.

No tie down points or holes. The carrier for specific vehicles locks in place using the existing slots in bed for hauling without load and with load is supported by strapping of load. The univeral carrier fits between bed front and tail gate when not loaded to keep in place for older trucks without slots.

Price not finalized yet, working on quantity metal purchase but will be under $200 for specific vehicle application and under $150 for universal application.

Also yes carrier has access underneath for misc. items, future looks like boxes will be available to incorporate additional hauling accessories.

We appreciate all feedback to help out with this product. Thanks all.

It is a great solution for those who don't want to mess around with a trailer roof/rack.
Are the joints welded or are there connectors there?
