I didn't know there was a conn involved? Is it possible that the miss fire issue can be ucon related?

 

The possibility is there, but the fact that it was only happening and progressively got worse as time went on indicates to me that this is a hardware, and not a software related issue that has been affected due to constant heating and cooling cycles of the engine.

 

I had a similar issue on a previous GM turbo car I had. Did new plugs, injector cleaning and bench testing service, and all this other non-sense trying to determine where the misfire came from. Eventually we found it to be that I had dropped two valves and broken a piston ring. At first it was a random misfire, then it started to sound like a Subaru/diesel under loads and in limp mode sometimes, towards the end the misfire was constant at all times. The car had 45k miles and like 13k miles on a GM Performance tune with much much higher boost than stock.

 

To those interested, Bluetooth OBD2 scanners are available for ~$20 on Amazon and display tons of info with the torque app or similar. I've had great luck with them.

 

My torque app needs to be adjusted I think. It says I'm running 65psi of boost.

 

My dash command app used to be close and would read 10-13 peak boost, but the last time I used it I was pulling 85psi. Truck didn't seem too much quicker so I assume the app needs an update

 

How is this boost measured? Because there is no pressure sensor without aftermarket gauge.

 

It more or less guesses(some mathematical equation) based on several factors you put in like gearing and engine displacement . I meant torque was/is good for monitoring sensors the truck has and to check engine codes. Mass air flow, short and long term fuel trims, engine load, factory O2 sensors, etc.. All available for under $30. Always made me wonder why people bothered with an ultragauge.
