x2. You can get dash cams for about $100 now with good reviews. I do want to get a dash cam because of all the stupid shit I see during my daily commute in and out of Boston but those seem a bit pricey.

I have a GoPro, but I hear it doesn't make a good dash cam for everyday use.

 

Careful out there. Lady I know had a horse slip on a patch of ice and break the femur right above the stifle. No bueno.

It's even bad with dedicated snow tires.

 

I don't know that I've ever felt the abs in the truck

 

Maybe because you don't drive it if there's any chance of precipitation within a one week span?

 

Have you ever felt the steering wheel or gas pedal?

To be fair, Toyota's ABS is wayyyy too intrusive. Other manufacturers aren't nearly as touchy; my F150's ABS system is set up much better than my Toyota's was. Isn't nearly as aggressive, and when it does kick in it's a lot less intrusive. Quieter, too.

How about in the Tonka? Did it kick in the other day?

 

I've never had a vehicle with ABS as touchy as this truck. It's awful. Keep meaning to wire in a kill switch.

 

I know, my 2nd Gen was my first experience with ABS and then I got this GMC and I'm like- holy shit, so that's how it's SUPPOSED to work? No noise and barely notice it?

 

I agree. With the Ferd, I like the ABS and the advanced traction control system which kicks in over 15 mph but generally disable the traction control system which operates under 15 mph. It cuts in a little too early and sometimes being able to spin in snow to chew down to pavement is the quickest way to get moving.

I've had my share of butt-puckering moments due to Toyota's ABS system. I certainly don't miss that part of my Tacoma.
