I am having an issue where the audio skips while playing music from iPhone 7 over Bluetooth, similar how to CDs did back in the day. It happens ever 45 seconds or so. Has anyone else had this issue with Entune?

(2016 OR w/ Tech, no JBL)

Are you on iOS or Android?

I am not sure if it is the phone, since Bluetooth speakers seem to work fine.

I'm guessing it only happens with the Bluetooth? How about with the USB cable??

I have it happen with iOS. I usually just restart the head unit and that fixes it.

Slide up your task panel on your iPhone, disconnect your Bluetooth then turn it on again. Music should reset and stop skipping.

@Dirty Harry How do you restart the head unit? I assume this is different then just cycling the cars power.

Sorry, I don't have premium sound so I just hold this button down and I'm good to go.

In this case, restart phone and truck

I’m not the IT guy lol ... but it’s the same question they ask me everytime

Haha. I am an IT guy and if restarting the head or the phone doesn't work you can power down the truck and it definitely works.

I have tried all of the power cycles already, minus pulling the power at battery. So I will try that and using a different phone and OS to see if either of those help.

I don't really want to go to the dealer since the odds they find the issues is slim to none, but maybe they can fix my the rattle in my A Pillar while they have it.

Delete the bluetooth connection with your truck and then and pair it again. Mine did this the first time I paried it, but hasn't happened since then.

This has been covered in the past. What fixes it for me is to change the settings for the way the device connects from "Vehicle" to "Device". When you are on the Select Device screen, tap your phone, then before choosing "Connect ALL" etc. press the "Device" button. Then you can change it from "Vehicle" to "Device". This makes the truck look for the phone vs. the phone look for the truck.

Mine used to do that sometimes. If I'd turn off Bluetooth on my phone, then turn it back on, it would work fine.

Im not sure what changed, but it hasn't happened in months. If forgot about it until I saw this thread.

I’ve tried all the proposed fixes and none of it has fixed the issue - 2019 SR5. I can imagine how Toyota will deal with me if I complain.....iPhone 6s Doesn’t skip with any other Bluetooth devices including my Honda Civic’s stereo.

I took my Tacoma into the stealership today for oil change, bluetooth skipping, and a rear seat issue. I'm assuming I'll be leaving the dealership with audio skipping a rear seat issue still. Stay tuned!

Took mine to the dealer a 2nd time, they're claiming a software fix is coming i.e. trying to run out the clock on my warranty period most likely. This is driving me fucking insane.
