Well I know I want a temp set up until I pay it off and once that happens ill link it for sure. Ive still got a few years to paying it off though.
So I guess if I can get that 17" from the DMZ kit ill probably go that way. Simply because im not going to put a new rear end in until I link it.

I don't have much access to desert type terrain unless I drive up to Michigan.
I would love pocket style links but my wallet can't justify it for what i do with my truck. But the leaf spring set up is just not cutting it for me lol (like cold week old pizza)

Short course is more affordable and theoretically still pulls more travel than leaf spring set ups (mostly)

And for me personally it's easier to maintain

I'm just stuck in a situation where two people I trust who know their shit are telling me two different numbers for shocks to look for

My truck is currently running a 16" bypass but I don't know if a 16" bypass and a 16" coilover are the same thing in terms of usable length
    If that makes sense?

Any Idea what a short course set up would need (newbie here)

It's almost identical to a normal 4 link
Except instead of pocket links that hold the coilover/bypass
The shocks are mounted to the axels
And the links are just steel tubes

Didn't you just get your truck finished up? Have you had the time to put it through its paces and retune everything before jumping to links?

If you buy the same manufacture then 16" bypass should be the exact same as the 16" coilover in terms of bump and droop length. So in theory you can use the bypass to mock up before you sell them and get coilovers, if that is what you were asking. Going from King to Fox etc its different but still very close

    Yeah
Got some good driving in before the diff broke
I mostly just felt the rear was too damn hard
It bucked the truck a lot
It was like a funny loss loss situation where the leaf springs are too soft to support any weight but too hard for a comfortable ride at speed
Even with the bypasses set in 10 different configurations through runs before we gave up

Here is a truck that was built for a friend of mine. He ended up doing short course style but still used a coil over and bypass, so may not want to sell the bypasses too fast

Tube clamp for the down tube on the roll cage to shock hoop--I'm glad I won't be the first to try it.

The dmz kit is designed to be for spring under. You could use just the bedcage and whatever spring hangers for soa, but using their hangers and staying soa would probably not be a good idea

Nothing to regret. DMZ SUA is a great setup. Links are a whole 'nother ball game, 99% of people here will never need or really use them. They also take longer and cost a lot more to do properly.

People are always yappin' about linking their trucks, very few actually do it.

Yeah I've thought about for over a year and decided on the better sua setup for usability. Someday I'll buy a old race truck or old tayota and build or buy a linked play truck.
