These were all bought new by my old man and Grandfather. Still kicking around today. My daughter learned how to drive in the Waggy.

It's less Tacoma and more mod
That's really cool, family vehicles are always awesome, paid for themselves long ago.

Yes I do. 275000 and still going. Only had to change a couple of alternators and mufflers. Still on original clutch...

I'm in the rust belt and 10+ years is pushing it. The engine and tranny are all ways good but the frames and body start to rust away unfortunately.

Perhaps people who plan on keeping their vehicles for a very long time favor Toyota or Honda in the first place.

These statistics are about original ownership after all.

My Dakota lasted 19 years without any major issues, 200k on the original clutch, etc.

I just wanted my current truck to be my last so I bought a Tacoma. No such thing as a sure thing, but 15 years should be doable. After 20 years though, that is where the good trucks are separated from the great trucks, imo.

    Time will tell.

Sold my 1989 4runner 2 years ago. Had 258k miles. Still ran good except for a few vacuum leaks and rear end was starting to howl. By far the cheapest vehicle (maintenace wise) that i ever owned.

Still have my 2000 Tundra, built in 1999.We had a 2002 Highlander, there wasn't a lot of them on the road back then. After a little fender bender I took it to 1 of the best old school body shops in the area, went to school with the guys son and knew there was no one better to fix it.He said "what in the Hell is this thing,I have never seen such a well built vehicle !" Of course they were built in the Lexus plant back then, lol.

If I could buy a brand new 70 series Landcruiser I'd keep it for 25 years or more.

Hell, my 87z has 72k and 98 Ranger has 34k. With 4 vehicles and single, miles add up slow...my tacoma is 15mo old with 8k...lol

I average 9000mi/yr, living close to work is the best thing I ever did.

Not bashing at all since my Tacoma is my DD more than anything...but why do you need a Tacoma for trips back and forth to the golf course?

My father-in-law took his Avalon head on in a crash at 60 miles an HR. He just opened the door Afterwards and walked away.....1 good reason there.

had good intentions , my 04 was totaled 12/24/2015 loved it, have kept a few 15 yrs , usually they turn to shit from salty roads or destroyed had 2 demolished parked in front of my residents by drunks. 1 was an absolute lemon and Toyota bought it back 3 transmissions going for its forth on a 98 corolla in 27000 miles.

It's probably not because they not only like them that much, it's probably because they don't fall apart like other manufacturers (chevy, ford).

Whoa, I've been pounding out miles in Avalons for the last 20 years, probably 50K per year. Comfortable, roomy, quiet, 28 mpg, trouble free, and when you run them up over 200K, they still have resale value. They've been a no brainer for me.
