The tires will be mounted tomorrow. I am a little nervous about them fitting even after seeing everyone on here who has them and doesn’t have an issue.

FWIW the cooper ST look significantly smaller than the maxx. I have maxx and my buddy has regular ST, and I swear his are 235s. I’ve triple checked and they’re 255s, but they look small. I highly doubt you’ll rub.

That is funny because on the Cooper site they list the S/T’s at 33.23 and the Maxx’s at 32.8.

I weighed the tires to see how close to the Cooper website specs they were and they all were in the 47 lb range which I am happy to see.

Hey wyntaco those look very nice, more aggressive than I thought, and 47 lbs is awesome.

Could you post a picture of the tires head on?

They probably look smaller because the lugs don't extend all the way to the edge of the tire. I wonder if 255 refers to the contact surface width or the total width of the tire?

5100's all around, OME 887 with 1/4" spacer, icon 3 leaf aal. 255/75/17 BFG KM's on 4runner pro's. Rigid led pods. Debadged and tinted.
255 refers to the section width, not tread width. Most manufacturers list an overall width and a tread width on their spec sheets. They even state what rim size the tire is mounted on for reference.

See now I'm confused. I thought it should be closer to 10" wide. 7"??

255 refers to section width, not tread width. Section width is sidewall to sidewall, mounted on a wheel & inflated to the correct pressure.
