    Yeah I didn’t even rub at full lock. Just had to remove my mud flaps and they were fine! Took off road a couple times and it did flawlessly.

    I guess I just made the assumption that "expeditionary, outdoorsy, vehicle for all my outdoor hobbies" would require some off the road travel on terrain that wasn't smooth and flat.

    You've had contact issues with your inners with the 255's? I haven't had any yet but already have caster at 3 and I don't carry near the weight you do either or wheel it, well really much at all yet. I'm armored some plate bumper (aluminum), sliders, skids but not what you carry by any means

    LOL Yeah. Both times I've been in Moab wheeling when the front driver side compresses, and I turn the wheel at all, I hear a "crunch" sound. I've taken literal chunks out of the tread block on my tires because they've scraped the inner liner so much. My ST Maxx were brand spanking new when I did Moab in June 2016. Came home with chunks missing off the top of the tread. Adding 3+ caster helped but didn't remove the possibility entirely.

    But that's what happens when you go full stuff. lol

    Oh, and I had less weight on the truck than I do now on that first trip.

    No, definitely plan on doing some wheeling. Can’t quite put it to work stock. That’s why I’m here! Love the Star Wars reference though! Now...to accommodate a wider tire. 10-10.5” would I need to look more into the wheel it self? Backspacing/offset etc? Or maybe a small Spacer?

    He stated in the OP he wantd it for expeditionary and outdoor adventure I believe. What is confusing me is he stated he wants bigger tires with a wider more aggresive stance yet wants 33x10.5's which would be skinnies I'd think he'd want at least 285's if he wanted wider and more aggresive

    With the right wheel you should be fine. I ran the 275’s with Ray10’s which provide -10mm offset and that’s why I had no issues. If you want an aggressive stance though maybe a spacer would be good too.

    Like I said, first build. My Verbage and Acronyms and specifics might not be all there yet. But yes I want a tall wide tire lol

    I would think the stock wheels would be fine. I'm running mine on 1st gen Tundra wheels. You don't want a wide wheels with skinny tires if you air down too much you can pop a bead @Kyitty can I'm sure tell you better. I defer to him because he actualy wheels this size and I have no idea what anybody else does

    I've wheeled my 255/85/16's at 12 PSI before with no issues. But they're E-Load so even at low PSI they stay fairly stiff. But I know Jeep guys nearby me that wheel their 35's in the snow at 8PSI all the time. LOL

    Usually a tire manufacturer will give you an acceptable rim width range for their tire. Usually best not to be at the very bottom or very top of that range I'd expect.

    Wheel backspace/offset do have an impact on how much of an "aggressive" stance you'll get from the truck though! My Method NV rims have a 4.5" Offset. This is more than the factory wheels which means that even with skinny 255's my tires still stick out more than the factory tires did.

    If you lift above 2.5" I'd recommend UCA's. You'll be able to align the truck more easily. You'll also be able to set a higher forward Caster degree. This means less likely to rub the cab mount we're all debating. Also can help with overall ability to flex. UCA's are stupid expensive though! The most common "budget" UCA's are the SPC Light Racing UCA's. And they're still spendy.

    I apologize I was only trying to clarify. A 255, or 33x 10.5 is typically considered a skinny tire on here. Hell I'd love to have 38x 15.5's on mine but with these trucks that's not practical then your into all kinds of things like regearing and a whole lot of cutting. God I loved the days of straight axel front ends on leafs. From what your saying now it sounds like a nice moderate lift and a set of 285's is what you want pretty cookie cutter on here

    Right so with the BP-51’s it’s saying a 2” increased ride height but with the Gen 3 that’s just a 1” increase since it’s factory 1” lift. Or is that 2” increase on TOP of the standard 1”.

    I would suggest it if for no other reason than it will allow higher castor numbers than stock let alone they flat work better

    Confusing right? LOL

    2nd Gen (2005-2015) and 3rd Gen (2016+) Tacomas have different factory ride heights. The 3rd Gens sit 1" taller than the 2nd Gens. So they're saying that the BP-51's will lift a 2nd Gen 2" and a 3rd Gen 1" higher than factory height. I believe.

    Which UCA's did you put on yours now. I put the Camburg ball joints on this time so far they work good

    And with a loft like that, I’m going to need front differential drop kit, Rear Axle Degree shims and extended brake lines?
