Pulled the trigger on the Cabrac. 'Looking forward to the addition. Hopefully the wait won't be too long, but it will be worth it.

Probably talking about the factory black rail you have to remove to access the holes. Some people put holes in it to leave it on for a cleaner install.

Correct! I left mine off. I may change my mind later. It rarely catches my eye.

I did install the weather strip on the wind dam. It makes a big difference at 70-80mph. At 40-50mph I don't notice it much.

Hey, what after market antenna is best? Now that I dealt with the rack this has started annoying me. lol

I don't understand why the Tacoma has a shark fin and a second antenna. My other vehicle is not like this.

Nice.. Did you have to use spacers with the MAxTrax mounts? If so, what size/what did you use?

I’m not sure of any aftermarket antennas for the shark fin. The fin is the Sirius xm antenna, and the front antenna is for am/fm.

Right, the AM/FM is the one that is noisy.

Anyone run through the car wash with their Prinsu? Specifically with the cap rack?

Got my cabrac on Friday and installed it over the weekend.

    Couple issues:
    1. They sent me the wrong bolt size on about 3/4 of the bolts. I had checked one for fit and it was fine but ran into a disaster after the silicone had been placed and I was ready to roll so that wasn't fun. I luckily made it up to the hardware store and grabbed replacements. $15 and a near panic attack later.

    2. The wind noise is really bad. Much worse than I imagined. I guess Ill try to grab some weather-stripping and see if that fixes it. Id order from them but at this point Ive been pretty disappointed with their communication.

Overall I think once the noise is fixed Ill really like the rack but after so much anticipation its been a let down dealing with their mistakes.

That's unfortunate. My cap rack is still in it's box.. can't wait to see what surprises it has :)

My only other dealing with CBI was for their sliders.. they sent me an entirely different design than what was shown on their website.

That's a bummer on the parts - but hopefully they get you all sorted with the right hardware!

The wind noise pissed me OFF when I first installed mine. And it did take some work, but you can get these racks super quiet if you use the slot covers on front, top, bottom of any bars you don't have hardware mounted to, use the weatherstrip, move deflector to the lowest position, and (for me) I completely removed the front bar (the one behind the deflector) b/c I had plenty of real estate for my uses w/ the remaining bars. Now, it take a lot of wind for me to even notice its up there most days.

Thanks for the write up. They’ve ignored emails for a couple days now so i doubt I’ll hear anything further. I’ll try moving the wind deflector for sure and then tweak what i can.

I have only ever had the weather stripping installed on mine and the wind noise has been minimal (my tires make more noise than the roof rack). I put the weather stripping on the entire length of the wind deflector.

I’m ordering that today off Amazon. Still no contact from cbi. Thanks for the heads up.

Would a 15' Hobie Oasis kayak, 130lbs, fit securely on just the prinsu double cab rack with just a couple ratchet straps?

Installed Prinsu today with same issue roof bolts 1/8 to long front and back. Had to stack some washers. All and all not to terrible. Had to put some sound dampening materials on the rails of my EO2 system to stop that jarring clanking.
