I had one on a different truck and wasn't real impressed. IMHO a combination of the PL and the hose clamp would be the way to go.

Yep, I had a guy back into my My F-150's tailgate. Insurance paid out $4,750. Fancy Tailgate step, camera, hardware, trim, and auto locking handle color matched. I bought a used one that was the same color and swapped parts over and the used one was still $1,500.

Then two weeks later, I backed into a trailer hitch and dented it... and no, I'm not replacing it until someone else hits me and can pay for a new one.

lol. That's my same feelings towards my F150. I don't need the truck but I do really love driving the luxury truck after the tacoma for a while. but then i realize i could fund the SAS for the tacoma if I sold the F150 but then I have to go through the hassle of selling it. but then I'll miss the truck... sooo some one please hit my ford and make the decision for me.

How? Isn’t insurance only pay KBB value? Your lucky if you even get close to KBB

A few years back, I bought ma'self a 92 hatchback Civic for $2K. Why you ask? Not important.

2 months later, and much to my surprise, it get's stolen! The audacity you say. I know!
Anyway, so I call up my insurance because of course I full-coverage'd that little fucker, and I go through the motions of claiming the loss of my precious. After they designated it a total loss, they cut me a check for $4700.
Thank you ass-hole thief for that!

Pop n lock is only for the opening the tailgate right doesn’t prevent from stealing the whole tailgate?

I have a PnL and it has worked fine for 3 years. I use mine a lot. If I did it I’ve again I would probably get the electric one that ties into the locks.

I'm more concerned with someone just opening it and taking my camping supplies out. If someone goes through the motions of stealing the whole tailgate, well then i'll call insurance. But yeah I should do that little hose clamp mod thingy..

Dunno if there is a difference. I just like the idea of it locking with the doors. I have accidentally left mine open at shitty places like Home Depot and the movie theater.

Wait till you catch someone taking a shit. Now that's a real treat.
But if you catch 2 hobos having at it behind their favorite liquor store's alley,
now at that point, consider yourself blessed.
