There's a red 2017 Tundra TRD Pro at Woodstock Toyota. I had to stop driving by the dealership...
I wish someone would buy it, so I won't see it and be tempted anymore.
    Window sticker is $59K.

I drove a dodge midnight express (or something like that - all blacked out) and the TRD Pro.
I liked the Tundra TRD Pro better...

They are not making the Tundra Pro anymore. So that Pro is the last of her breed! I see one here in town all the time a grey one.

No doubt... the black RAM is just a cosmetic upgrade; nothing like the Rebel... and the Rebel has way more modern/comfort features than the TRD Pro, which is stuck in the last decade.

I ordered some new nerf steps. I'm replacing the OEM balconies that were bolted to the side of my truck with a 3" tube style that tucks up to the rockers and has a steps for my wife. I already have thick rubber flaps, so I only need stone chip protection and access for the missus.

    nerf step.jpg

They also have them for Taco's...
    tacoma step.jpg

These are just a step, not sliders, but at $370 and free shipping in Canada...

    Here's where I got them:

    So, new tires.

    Cant decide between two sizes

265/70r17. 1” larger diameter, same width as stock. Fits no problem, gas mileage probably won’t be affected much. 1/2 more clearance

Or 285/70r17. 2” larger diameter and almost 1” wider. Some trimming required, better looking with wider and 1” clearance gained but loss of mileage majorly

I know @Joe23 is making this switch, whats your major reasoning for the extra little size? Or anyone else?

I love the 285 but not sure ill be happy with the mileage loss for an extra 1/2”?

I had MT Baja ATZ P3's 285/70/17 on my Taco, but it also was lifted on Icon's. Gas mileage was fair, noisy AF, and they were toboggans on packed snow.

    Appearance + :sawzall: = 285's
    Performance + common sense = 265's

... and your truck seemed to perform great and looked awesome as is. Wear out what you have now first!

In the same boat. Why not split the difference and go 275?

    Because ground clearance br0

There's been a few things I wanted to do but was just shy of having the clearance.
Going to be about 3/4" gain worth it to me.

If you want the 265 mine will be up for sale. 4 with maybe 10k km one brand new.

275 is barely a difference in height. You'll gain 1/4" if you're lucky and need to trim anyways if you actually wheel them like Taylor will be doing. May as well go full deal.

Difference would be less than 1/2 a L/100k

Besides not much for 275 on the market besides kbro2 which are terrible in rain and mediocre off road. Very reason @NorilskSever just got rid of his. And I've had them in the past. Overrated pile of shit tire. The only good thing about them is they last long. But so do st Maxx and they're 20x better performance

Tire .... Ht x Tread x Width (sidewall to sidewall)
    255/75/17 = 31.77 x 8.5" x 10.2"
    255/80/17 = 32.8 x 8.5" x 10.2
    265/65/17 = 30.51 x 8.66" x 10.5
    265/70/17 = 31.85 x 8.7" x 10.7
    275/70/17 = 32.17 x 8.66" x 11
    285/70/17 = 32.99 x 9.99" x 11.5

    ... depending on rim/wheel width.

Exactly this. Only 275 that i would consider is ko2. But then its e load and expensive, weights more than a 285 duratrac etc. I considered it but not worth it.

I will have to keep you for those 265/70. But im thinking im gonna go new shortly for the duratracs. Been saving up my ctire giftcards.
Sooner then later, then hopefully can get some okay money for these duratracs with 4-5k km on them

The smart thing to do would be a 255/80r17. Full 33 but skinnier. I just dont think a skinny tire will look good on this truck. As a guy is running the ko2 34x10.5r17 on his zr2 with less issues than the 285/70. Width is a killer and eats fenders
