My 1995 4x4 V6 Auto needs valve cover gaskets. Should I just change the valve cover gaskets (2), bolt seals (16), spark plug seals (6) and upper plenum gasket (1)?

90210-05007 (16 total) bolt washer seals
11193-70010 (6 total) spark plug gaskets
11213-62020 (2 total) valve cover gaskets
17176-62040 (1 total) upper plenum gasket

Wish there was a kit with everything for the valve covers

Here is a snip from a spreadsheet I put together for this job. Keep in mind my idea of "required" may not be the same as yours.

I haven't done this job yet, but do believe there are 4 "half moons" and only 2 camshaft plugs. One on the back side of each valve cover

I already have brand new (all OEM) spark plugs, plug wires, PCV valve and PCV valve grommet. Is that throttle body gasket needed for $35?

I don't believe it's necessary. I've had my TB off for cleaning and didn't replace the gasket. The TRD one should have better flow based on the design though. You can look up the differences. I also don't believe you can get the standard gasket any more.

@ekul310 I am doing this job soon and have a list of parts to, a few people told me to get the TRD SC gasket but I am not supercharged so is it even worth me doing that? I have the part numbers 22271-62040 for the throttle body gasket itself and 22215-62180 for the throttle body cover gasket.

The difference between the two can be seen in this picture:
A is the stock, naturally aspirated version
B is the TRD gasket for the supercharger

The throttle body on your truck is a circle, not a "D" shape. It's your call.

My Tacoma mechanic is charging me $100-$150 for labor for all the parts above. Good deal? I think so

Yeah, I'd say extremely good deal on the labor.

I also got the camshaft seals (2) 90311-38051 and throttle body gasket #22271-62040

Any idea how long it would take to change out all these for a Tacoma mechanic?

Either way I will give him $150 or more. Another guy I deal with wants $1100 for his labor, yes he said $1100. He is . He goes by that ALLDATA program and adds every single thing up to come up with this joke of a price

Where is this guy? I'd pay him that in a heartbeat to avoid me doing this job in my driveway.

I'm a shade tree mechanic, it took me/dad a morning and a 12 pack to finish mine a few weeks ago. Actually a very simple process, but it just requires a few time consuming steps...

My guy that is doing it next Saturday is a chief mechanic for BMW right now and was a chief mechanic at VW/Audi. He's loves the old school Toyota pickups and is great with those too

Well, I'm sure there's a book rate for the job. I just did mine, and I wouldn't do it again for $150....

Amen. I'd easily pay someone $250 to do it, but the job does need to be done right or the leaking will continue or get worse. In addition, I want ALL parts put back in their proper place. No spare parts.
