How did you contact this guy? It seems like a few others have been trying to order armor and he hasn’t been very responsive. I’ve called and emailed and have gotten nothing in return for about a week

Hmm that seems strange. I just messaged him through his website about the ordering process and lead times and he texted me back either the next day or the day after with the details. I then just told him to send me an invoice for what I wanted and he sent it right away. He said in his initial text I could call him anytime but I just texted him back instead.

Wierd, I’ve had the hardest time getting in touch with him. The phone number on his website keeps going straight to voicemail. Kinda sucks cuz I’m ready to order!

Phone is still currently going straight to voicemail...

Does anyone have a write up and pics of how you ran your stock rear view camera to the swingout?

    Diddo. Gotta do the same.

    http://www.pelfreybilt.com/product/camera-relocation-mount/

Seems simple enough I may end up making my own because they say 3-4 week lead time on the website for this little plate... and you still have to extend your factory harness.[IMG]

Did you mount the camera in the center or off to the side? How long do you have to extend the factory harness?

Here's some pictures of Billy's BU camera mount and how I utilized it. It's meant to mounted on the swing out with self tappers and the wire harness secured in some way of your choice.
This solution works for me but some would probably disapprove.

I like this way so you don't have to extend your wire harness to the swing out.

Yes- its TW... someone will disagree for sure

One more follow up, Did Billy include this for you or did you have to add it on?

Well...if the swing out hinges on the right side you probably wouldn't have to lengthen the harness at all. I had Billy hinge mine on the left and the harness would have definitely needed to be longer.
I still cut the harness and spliced it back because of the size of the camera plug.
I wanted to keep the camera and the was the cleanest solution for me.

I like that mount location. I have the camera and wire zip tied to my passenger swing out temporarily (aka the last 5 months) but i might find where i put Billy’s mount and install it similar to how you did it

Mine is off center. I have a short swingout. I did not have to extend the wires.

Billy sent me a bracket along with my bumper but it turns out there are different cameras on some trucks and it doesn't fit mine. I still need to get a new bracket that fits and get mine installed. Backing into a parking spot at work today I damn near backed into the hood of a Lexus, my spare and can carrier were hanging over his hood.

I didn’t extend mine. I used one of Billy’s mounts and it’s in line with the stock mounting location. I can snap a couple pics tomorrow if needed

I also changed up a small detail that had been annoying me. The rubber pad eventually fell off the goes behind the latch on the swingout where it gets close to the bumper. I thought I could just cut down the bolts that bolt the latch onto the swingout, but then it was squeaking and it annoyed me to death. So I just ordered some rubber feet that had a hole in the center for a bolt. It was a little thick, and kept the swingout from latching. But a little sandpaper to the back and voila....

The swingout latches very securely and doesn’t seem to have any play at all now. You can see even after I cut down the bolts in the latch they still rubbed lol
