Looking forward to seeing your sub box, I'd like to put one in as well. Which JBL amp did you get?

If I had a wager a guess, I would say bass will develop as you break the speakers in and wear some of the stiffness out of them. Hopefully.

Yup, what he said! Give it a couple weeks. It won't be significantly louder, but you will find yourself liking it more than you remembered when it was first installed. :D Plus, you may need to re-adjust your eq settings at that point...

It's more of an issue of isolating the noise coming from the rear of the speaker away from the noise coming from the front of the speaker, at least I think that's the only reason people cover the front of the panel holes.

Noise from the rear of the speaker? I am not familiar with that.

So I just installed the tweeters & love how plug & play it was. The front/rear speakers are arriving later on the UPS truck. Without having to search through this entire thread- are the speakers as plug & play as the tweeters with the connections included in the Crutchfield kit? I can tell they gave me over $100 of wiring harness & adapters but is that all installed & ready to go? Or do I have to cut & connect some wires to the speakers? I’ll finish everything tonight if it’s that easy, if it’s not I’ll probably wait until Friday afternoon or the weekend. Any info is appreciated.

need to learn more about this stuff
they are plug and play. but its not as quick because you have to remove all the door parts and disconnect handles and window buttons, etc. you will need to also mount the speakers the the mounts they sent. and it isn't going to be a perfect mount. you'll have to either drill new holes, or screw the screws in diagonally a bit.

Thanks for the quick response. I was aware that taking the doors apart would be time consuming & that’s why if I had to do any wiring I was going to wait. I’ll figure out the mounts & make it work somehow, I just hate messing with wires. I can do plastic, screws & drills.

The adapters crutchfield gives you already have slide on clips that slide on to the speaker terminals. Then they become plug and play. No soldering needed

Is it nessesary to disconnect the battery when installing the kicker tweeters? (As shown in the YT video by OEM audio) Tweeters just got delivered. I want to run home and get it installed.

I just did it. I disconnected the negative just for insurance in case the speaker wire touched something it shouldn't have. Also since the airbag is there didn't want something happening. I wanted to put some extra foam backing in the a pillar to prevent future noise/creaking but didn't have the time with the install and it wasn't making noise prior so hopefully it stays that way.

I just pulled the trigger! Tweeters and door speakers will be arriving the 17th!
I feel confident I can manage the install for tweeters, but who is near Ventura that wants to help me with door speakers install for beer?
