I just really like how this one dosen't require the grommet to hold the shift boot up. Also, plain aluminum would look really good with the black interior in my SR.

because he integrated the retainer molding? that is a great idea if you're trying to mount the boot to the base like that. I'm not which is why that knob isn't being used.

but my point was just to show custom knobs are easy to get. i just happened to choose flat black for that one. any finish you can imagine is available.

I personally like the looks of the shaft and the knob... And for the record I love pussy.

I'm going to order enough aluminum for 20 pcs, but i probably won't post anything until I have a few finished.

Hit me with your engrave idea, and I can process it whenever I have some down time. Any .jpeg will work, and a .png file with no background is even better.

For the record, I can make one without the boot connector. It's so much easier, actually.

I'm thinking like in this post, with a custom .png centered under it.

I might have to do one word per line to keep the engraver from digging in the side too much. The longer the string, the deeper the side of the tool will engage. My toyota engraving is about as wide as I feel comfortable going, so if you want it all on a single line it would have to be pretty small.

    What is that font called?

I got ya. Are you interested in aluminum or stainless?

One word per line is Fine, the font is called "1979". I found it on a free online .PNG maker.

Would def buy. Keep us posted if you decide to make a small batch. The integrated boot holder is what makes it worth it.

Will do. I'm making a new and improved version with radius leads ... and I will need that checked on a new truck before I do a full production run with aluminum.

I probably wore some of the plastic away inside of my collar while I was in process of filing a radius on the knob in the area that was hanging up, so I really can't trust my truck to react like everyone else's at this point.

Once we're proven out, I will go balls deep in this. Pun intended.

Since the TRD pro knob runs about $100 bucks, I think that would be a more than fair price point (if you're looking for input). I was debating the pro knob specifically for the boot holder, but didn't want to drop that much on something so generic looking.

Yeah, I'm thinking around $100 for the custom engraved stuff (as long as the designs remain relatively simple). I don't mind a little extra CAD work, but there is a higher risk of scrap with unproven engravings that may/may not work out the first time. I was sweating that TOYOTA engraving, big time.

Pretty happy with my Lathewerks. I love being able to use the whole knob with the boot out of the way.

Let me know if you need a guinea pig with un-worn plastic from their knob; I'm in Baltimore so not super far from you in PA. I'd love to see how one of these greasy things is machined.
