I was just about to create a thread for this as I am experiencing the same thing. Been lurking on here for a few days now to see if anyone else has had the same issue. Figured I'd try the search function one more time just to be sure. My driver's side seat heater stopped working around Christmas, and I noticed it Christmas morning on the long drive to my sister's. I tried checking the connections and turning the seat off, turning the truck off, checking if the seat was on its own fuse, etc. but nothing worked. Fast forward to yesterday and I attempted to turn the seat on and it's randomly working again. I made an appointment last week for this coming Monday but now I am skeptical they will just say "Could not replicate" and send me on my way. My truck is less than 2 years old and only has 20,500 miles so the warranty should cover everything.

Looks like the heated seats are becoming an issue after 2 years.

When I had an older 4runner I used to get salvaged parts from Yota Yard out of Colorado. They were awesome to work with. I haven't called them in like 10 years, but I would bet they would be a good place to start for salvaged parts. They were really well priced too.

The manager called up to the dealership and set up and appointment for me. They just got it taken apart and said they are covering it 100%. Got lucky on this one.

Yes, please let us know what they determine. Mine is still working as of last night but I still have my appointment for Monday morning. I'm off work anyways for the holiday so I figure I'll swing by and see what they say. If they refuse to look at it (since it is currently working) I'm going to try and get documentation I took it in there so if it happens in the future I'll have evidence its been there before for that reason.

Would this be covered under warranty even if you had aftermarket seat skins?

Unless they can prove that your seat skins caused the problem YES.

Just my passenger seat heater stopped working at some point. I checked the connections and all looks okay.

Sigh... Guess I need to bring it in for a warranty check. Not looking forward to the wasted time with this. 8 month old truck

I have Clazzios on, and I know they are not the cause. Should I remove them before bringing in for inspection to be safe?

If they are easily removed and added back on it wouldn’t hurt. But if it took more than 20 minutes for both I don’t think I’d bother. There is no reason I can think of that the seat covers would have an effect on the warmers.

As an update, my seat heater stopped working again already so we’ll see what they say tomorrow when I take it in. Hopefully they can fix it in one day.

I just traded my prerunner for a 2018 TRD sport and my seat heater quit on me last night. It worked once since I had the truck. I have 800 mile on it and it’s going to the dealer tomorrow for them to look at it.

My failure ended up being loose connections from factory. The install of the Clazzio's likely was the culprit of the final loosening of the relevant connector(s).... luckily that was the only issue.

Bump for being another culprit of the heated seats failure!

Almost the exact same problem. Drivers side won't work, passenger side does. Switch illuminates but has 0 heat.

I am hoping to have the seat out today if it warms up. Really cold here so I'd like to get it done but again, it's really cold here and I don't feel like working in the cold.

My truck is a 2016 with 47k so I am out of the warranty.
