No reason to pay MSRP in my area.

I pick up my 2018 Pro on Monday (Cavalry Blue, A/T, pretty loaded) for $700 below sticker. The dealer also is giving me $500 more for my Lexus trade-in than I've been offered from any other dealer on other (non-Pro) Tacos. Maybe living in a frozen Northern snow belt has a few upsides!

You’re right. I must not be able to read so well because I didn’t see any mention of the price you paid for your pro or the price anyone paid for anything related to a pro whatsoever in your post, so yah. I must have read that wrong. Just read your unrelated comments on your tranny preferences...maybe you can highlight the relevant parts of your message and get back to me. K? Thx!

Be cautious with the Internet savings pricing. I’ve learned that for the Pro it’s just a way to get you into the dealership. Only to learn the “savings” don’t apply because the dealer still adds a market adjustment price.

So much truth on this. I "locked" one in at a dealer only to get a call from them saying it was a price error and it was actually marked up. :smash:

I run into this all the time. Customer calls me looking for a car, and says "so-and-so dealership has it listed for $xx,xxx." Yeah, until you read the fine print. D&H, doc fees, backend product, etc. They're going to make their money. Sometimes they will advertise a "Loss leader" to get people in the door. That unit will sell ASAP. Meanwhile, the ad is still drawing people in. A lot of people say they love to negotiate, and some are really good at it. Just remember, car dealers do this every day, all day. How do you think they pay for those big expensive showrooms, and huge retail properties in prime locations?

I paid 3K over MSRP for my '17 PRO .. bought it in Las Vegas, NV since nowhere in SoCal any dealers will budge under 5K-7500K markup.
Still happy with my purchase.. no regrets  Plus my cement is one of two in my city that I see around, so I'm happy with that :bananadance:

Not the case with this dealership, but I can see how that could happen. I have personal purchasing experience with Koons. Very pleased with this dealership to the point of driving an hour for the service of my SR5. Will not give my local dealership a dime.

That’s kind of an asshole thing so say Bro. Maybe it is worth it to him. Maybe he is more successful than you and can drop an extra 3k and not give a shit. Just because you wouldn’t pay 3k over for a pro doesn’t invite you to be a total dickhead to the guy.

The guy he was saying got "bent over" didn't even pay 3k over. He paid "43k and change" which is what the MSRP is.

Looks like I blurred those two posts above as the 3k over would be something someone would use the term “bent over” for but 43k...?!? o_O. These bros are harsh out here who have pro envy. 43k is a long way off from getting “bent over”. It is interesting how all the trash comments are from non pro owners. I have yet to see a pro owner go to an Off-Road thread and start shit talking for these guys not stepping up their game and getting a pro.

There is much more to the TRD Pro than just grille and suspension, like rear locker, crawl control, leather seats and other little goodies

All True. Got to ask yourself if you are going rock crawling or mall crawling and how much is the "Bro Cool" worth if you are just "stylin'"??
