So something had been binding in the passenger front suspension. Today's opportunity arose while finally installing my stainless steel break lines. When the front passenger spindle was disconnected from the tie rod, the spindle was very hard to turn. Upon loosening the taper bolt just a tad on the uniball, the spindle would immediately be easier to turn. Upon looking at the top of the uniball on the UCA, I noticed the top spacer around the 12 pt nut looked a little chewed up. I know the uniball is probably toast, but what about the top part of the taper bolt? Will post pics tomorrow btw, might help what Im talking about!!!

Also, of note, planning to grease the UCA bushings, found the zerks were not even hand tight, luckily they are still on, anyways, loosen the cross bolt a bit before greasing, then how to you torque the bolt? Just feel the 100 ft/lbs, would seem hard to get a torque wrench up in there.. Thanks!!!

Your at 24in in the front? That’s a lot of lift, you sure your not getting coil bind? How many threads are showing on the coilovers?

Lots, about 2 5/8 inches showing front driver. I know it's pushing it, talked to fox, they said should be fine. New springs I the rear are higher than I would like, hopefully will settle and I can crank the front back down.

Side note, how have you been liking the leaf pack? How many miles on it now? Still a softer ride?

I have been loving it over the dakar el095R, still rides a little high, but will settle in time!! I would endorse it as a solid pack option for our trucks!! Ride is planted, not overly soft, nor hard. Handled weight very well! Took home over 1000 lbs of tile home the other day, and barley a squat, actually loved the ride!!! Pics of my issue incoming shortly!!

First two pics are of drivers side, second two pics are of passenger. See how in the second uniball picture, there is a ridge worn into the top spacer under the 12 pt bolt? This uniball is extremely difficult to articulate by hand. Was just wondering if I could replace the uniball or does the entire taper assembly also need to be changed?

I know, cranking them up for the time due to the new leafs in the rear being sky high for the time, Planning on replacing the coils when I finish the front, probably steel bumper winch, at which time will get 700lb 14 inch coils. All depends on how far the leafs settle. Uniballs are incoming, almost went delta, but special install tools, and 4 wheel parts would be my only option in town that I know of. Will be running the dust caps next go around as well.

I had Fox coilovers too and had the same issue with having to crank the hell out of them to get any lift. Replaced with kings and 700lb spring and now I have no preload basically.

I know it!! I have dessert rat off road as well, but feel comfortable replacing myself, just want to know what went wrong to cause it! like you said, might have been wrong from the get go. Currently Im in Albuquerque NM, limited choices, many places couldnt even identify that this looked wrong or find it binding in which I mentioned!! I believe they were installed by socal supertrucks by the previous owner.

Can I ask why? I mean you took a shitload of abuse for what happened but you stuck through it and sorted everyone out. As far as I know everyone got everything they paid for.

For sure. Mods don’t really care about my track record, they don’t want me selling. It sucks, but what can you do. It’s not as much fun doing it for other vehicles too because I don’t have one, so I’ve slowed down a bit

I won’t push the issue though. I like being part of the community. So if I can stay on here but not sell. I’ll live
