I have been wanting to do away with the chrome on my console. It has reflected the sun in an unpleasant manner more than a few times.

I actually like the chrome accents inside. Nice, simple and flows well IMO ;-)

They actually did look cool just blasted. But I have nothing silver in my truck so didn't really mesh with anything.

Haven't tore into that yet. But I know not can be done. Where there's a will, there's a way:)

Old thread bump - I got something stuck in the vent and need to get it out....

My question is how do you remove the vent/ flap assembly to the left of the radio screen?

You pull the whole bezel (screen surround) off by hand. Start on the right hand side, putting your fingers behind the lip and pull straight out until it releases the clips on that side. Then pull from the top on the left side of the screen and it should all come free. It's super easy once you get over the fear of breaking something.

See Meso's video on the first post.

What did you use to make the trim around the shift handle black?

What type of wrap are you using?

Bumping this thread to ask how you removed the air vent on the far right (passenger side). I've blacked out the other three, but haven't figured the fourth one out yet.

That seems a bit confusing..!! Far left from the pass side would be the one closest to the drivers door.!! OR are you saying the third one to the right from the driver's left side, near the door...??

I would have said the one on the left side of the right side... Much clearer, in my mind.!

haha. I did dork that up pretty good.

I mean the vent on the far RIGHT side of the truck by the passenger door. The one that is not a part of the main dash trim piece.

Thanks. I'm new here, but not to forum shenanigans. I'm a mod on a few other car forums. Been lurking here for a while, and just picked up my Tacoma on 12/30

Sorry for the possibly stupid question, but did you just vinyl over the Toyo badge or do you remove it from the airbag cover to do that? Do vinyl shrink to fit?

    Thanks!
