I’ll start my search here. Has anyone reinforced/swapped a nut bigger than the 12mm at the rear of the IFS skid? Just pulled skids.. the one 12mm nut broke free from tack welds. Sawzaw couldn’t get in there so I just ripped the bolt out. Pic for reference..

 

Mine are both stripped. I need to address this too.

 

What bout repeat process not just one time tighten?

Oh it’s a metal toggle...

I’ve used rivnuts for wood but they have a barb that bites into the wood. Couldn’t see how it would stay in place in the crossmember without a tack weld at least.

 

Ok so found them. I have these left over from 4xinnovations, they are their bed rail nuts. They are 1”x1”x 1/4” thick. I wonder if I could weld them on the outside of the cross member as a beefier nut and bolt setup.. Would the added 1/4” thickness mess with anything.?

let me ask you something.... do you get to write off any millage at the end of the year?
I get $6k per year for using my own car, they call it car allowance and then my job pays for gas... Ive been told I can divide the 6k by the amount of business millage and if it's short from what I'm entitle per year I can write off the rest... also been told i cant because they paid for gas and i get allowance/compensation..
I prep/file my own taxes so I don't bother with it to keep it short and sweet but always wonder if im missing out...
I do an average of 80 miles/day

 

You'd have to make sure you itemize your taxes instead of the standard deduction. Depending on what write offs you have you probably don't itemize. I forget the form # used for this but you can write off any expenses incurred over the course of the year above and beyond what you are paid for the company. You'd then only receive a % of that. I researched it and ran it by my mother before who is a CPA. Even for me it's not worth it.

I have a fixed rate which is supposed to cover insurance, repairs, depreciation, etc. It totally fucking doesn't. Not even close. Then I get a variable rate based on fuel cost. 17.6 cents a mile. Again, I drive a truck with shit hanging all over it. It doesn't cover my fuel. It seems like if I were to take it off on my taxes I'd get like $40 after all is said and done. That's why I'd rather just have a car.

 

But at least I got this in the mail today for free.
