South Carolina BS thread under new MANAGEMENT and lives in SC

@ahspurlock new CB is installed but the jingle nose is still there. I must have run over a jingle Bell. I just have no idea at this point but I'm going back up there next week.

 

Do you have the mount grounded or the antenna?

 

Both I think. The mount is bolted to the inside of the bed. I didn't scrape any paint or anything off though. Is it double grounded?

 

More than likely. Run a wire from the screw on the mount to the chassis and see if that helps. Shouldn't have to ground the actual antenna though. just the mount.

 

I turned it on, set up my phone to record and walked to the end of the driveway with the handheld. Seems to work fine.
I'll test it on the trail tomorrow and if I can pick up one of the lead vehicles fairly far away.....then I can let someone use the handheld.

Just found a magnetic base antenna for it as well.

 

As long as your SWR is good then it should be fine if you can transmit clearly.

 

I doubt that it is, but it will be fine for the trail.
I'll have to pull the dash to tune it....and that can wait.

Saving this one for tomorrow when the in-laws get here and after the Chestnut Mountain run. Still got about half a bottle of Elijah Craig to pair with it. If I post anything tomorrow night, it's probably bullshit.

I'm sure we could hook up somewhere. Who knows? May be another ride coming up. I contemplated coming tomorrow but I think I'll just work in the shop instead.

 

I get out to Anderson with some regularity. We'll figure something out. We will put an order in for some cookies. Probably a pretty good sized order, too.
