All Pro Expos vs Dakars

    I've been going back and forth between the All Pro's and the Dakars. I can get a deal on the All-Pros, but cant on the Dakars. If anyone has pictures of measurements if your running either of these sets of springs, will you post em up so I can see if their is any difference? I have heard nothing but good things about both sets. Just trying to make sure I make the right decision before I drop $500 on some leafs.

    There are threads with measurements for both of these. The amount of lift is going to be dependent on the vehicle weight, which can vary drastically from a stock to a built truck.

    On Dakars with AAL and 5-600 pounds in the bed, my truck measures at 25" from center of hub to fender and rides great (albeit like a truck) on and off road.

    I read lots of complaints about the All Pro springs. I would go with Dakars.

    Had All Pro Expos on my 1st Gen... handled weight and a maxed out load like a champ

    Currently running Dakar’s on my 2nd Gen... pretty smooth but they don’t take weight near as well as the Expos

    When I get a leaf pack again, it’ll probably be Expos

    Dakars with a shell and some tools/recovery gear rides great, and leaves room for more weight when you are on a trip/depot run.

    I just switched from dakars to expos. I do like the ride of the expos better so far but haven had a chance to take them out and stretch the. Out yet.
    Both are good.
    Are you planning on running a bunch of weight consistently?

    Yeah, I have the HD and can't imagine having springs that are much stronger. The ride is good though. 500+ pounds doesn't squat them at all.

    To clarify. I went from the hd dakars to the all pro expos. As for weight with full skids, sliders, full spare, rack,rtt, tools, etc...so far I think the expos ride a little better.
    Although it's only been a few days lol.

    I've always read that the Expos ride better. They have more springs of thinner thickness than the Dakars. They seem to ride flatter, while Dakars retain their arch better. Expos also seem to provide more down travel - maybe a result of riding flatter?

    This is all stuff I've read about AP springs. I only have experience with my Dakars.

    I'm on 3rd set of dakars over the years so I also have nothing to compare them to, but also have no complaints about the ride or load handling capability.

    Yes. At any given time there will be at minimum a rack, RTT, steel bumper, high lift, shovel, axe, and full size spare.

    3 inch lift with Toytec Boss and All Pro UCA's up front. AP expedition leafs with Bilstien 5100 shocks in the back. 255/85/16 Cooper S/T Max tires. All Pro skids, rear bumper and sliders, Hidden winch mount with XRC 8000 winch. Dual Optima batteries with IBS combiner/isolator and solar. CMC. Auto sliding rear window mod, hidden CB, CVJ axles and plenty of other little mods.

    I've had both, and have used them both extensively off road and with heavy loads. The Dakars are too short and serious kidney busters.

    I'm on Dakars and a bit worried about them once I put my rear bumper with full size spare on it in addition to my RTT. I also have a SnugTop on the bed. Thinking about switching up to the Expo's myself.

    Thank you guys so much! We do have free shipping and no handling on our products. We also have the Dakar Package which comes with the all of the items needed for installation. One of the nice things about the Dakar pack is its versatility. You can go with the medium duty and add in the add-a-leaf if needed, to convert the MD into the HD. Or vise versa. You can go with the HD and if it is too much you can remove the leaf which converts it into the MD. And if the HD isn't quite enough you can add in the aal again and make it even more heavier duty. :)
