Kinda at a standstill without these damn bolts lol. The springs are ready to go though. Still have to remove old perches and shock mounts from the 14 bolt... probably do that tomorrow after the F150 lift

I managed to get a little bit done this weekend. I finished cleaning up the frame and threw a coat of paint on and got the bed back on. Unfortunately, this 14 bolt is trash. It has some major pitting in the axle tubes where the perches and u-bolts were. I noticed this a while ago, but didn't really inspect it closely until I started the rear suspension. I am still going to get the suspension on while using this axle, and just swap it out when we find another one. Nowhere local carries 9/16" bolts needed for the 63's, so I'll have to order them from somewhere online but after that, I'll knock out the rear.

Big day today... Got the shackle hangers built and got the 63s tacked on the truck and was able to take the truck off the jackstands. I started welding everything in but ran out of wire after just one shackle hanger. I will have to wait till next week when I get a new roll of wire and back from vacation.

It's an inch lower in the rear, but I believe the front has to come down another inch.... I'll have to find and check my notes. The front bumper along with a winch might be enough to level it out, but I may end up adding a leaf back in the springs.

    Haha, damn shitty 63s....

And yes, 80-something Chevy. It's fully restored with a 383.... We (mostly the owner and our friends) are swapping the manual trans for an auto. I've been avoiding having to work on it :D

Well im old, so you know i want a fall guy truck. Long bed reg cab. Just add to list of wants I guess.

What about a “lift leaf” 63? Like a skyjacker? May not flex as well though.
