2016 SSO Slimline Bumper

Been a minute for me too. I ordered November 18. I asked about a month ago if it was still 6-8 week lead time. They said yes but u know how that guys. Mine says backordered but "in fabrication" whatever that means. I got a good deal on mine tho so I'm not worried about it

I ordered mine Oct 19 received yesterday 12 weeks to the day. I would say it is worth the wait. Mine was powder coated, which adds a week.

 

Trying to find info on what people are using to cut the bumper. I have a Dremel 3000, what blade should I use?

If u got a compressor go to harbor freight and get a body saw. It's like a mini sawzall. Makes plastic cuts a breeze and leaves a nice precise line. Where does one get a template? Does SSO ship one w it? I'm surprised I haven't seen a walkthrough on the install somewhere.

Have a compressor, but gonna go ahead and use my Dremel. Bought some hi speed cutting discs. So damn hard to plan cutting into a new truck, considering where I Elk hunt I need a winch.

 

I haven't seen an actual walk thru but the instructions are pretty straight forward. When you get to the cutting part pay attention to the "modified" cutting instructions. I actually cut right on the tape line and a little more into the tape so I wouldn't cut out as much material. I turned out great with little to no gap.

ETA I took the bumper cover off and removed the "chin/center" part and all the bumper/bracket stuff underneath it. I remounted the cover to the truck before I taped and cut. Having it mounted back on the truck provided more stability for the cover when cutting.

 

Good call on using the dremel with a ripsaw blade,the cutting discs tend to melt more plastic and wont give as clean of a cut. The ripsaws still melt plastic but you get a nice clean cut.

 

I hate the smell of the buning and the little plastic pieces of fire that fly around hitting you in the arms and forehead with those cutting blades. I've put in my time with grinding / cutting blades, I try to avoid em now as much as possible haha.

How do you have the winch control setup without the cutouts?

I believe the x20 and Warn Zeon use wireless controllers

 

x20 does have wireless control, but you still need to manually engage the clutch. Why I have the bumper with the cut out. Just clocked the clutch side for ease of access. Don't like the idea to have to open the hood and reach in. I am short and the truck is soon to be lifted. I believe the Zeon is all wireless including the clutch, but $$$.

 

I have the x20. I can reach the switch/clutch with the hood popped. I run the controller wirelessly.

 

Ordered November 20. Powdercoat, lightbar cutout, hoop, and cutouts. Recieved yesterday. Shipped on Feb 1 and received on the 2nd! Of course I'm in Alabama, so not too far away.
