Going to try a different body on my Spawn. This says its for a 12.4" wheelbase, but my spawn has a little over 14" wheelbase. That being said, I measured the fender cutouts on the original Spawn body and it is around 12.5" center to center. I think with some creative cutting, I can make this work. I'm planning to paint it gunmetal. Thoughts?

My orignal Spawn body for reference - this is an old picture as it is a bit more hacked on now to stop wheel rub.

You can get it make some proper length links to make it work if need be. No need to hack up a 4Runner unnecessarily.

Axial is filing Chapter 11. I guess the TRX-4 hurt sales too much. Looking at their debt it looks like it was inevitable anyway. Traxxas just sped it up some.

This was bound to happen, any company that hobbico owns... its terribly run

There are A LOT of brands under hobbico too, this isnt going to be fun for those of us in the hobby

It’s going to interesting for retailers as well. With fewer people in the hobby, retail outlets are closing. I know it seems as if some of the places I go to seem to have fewer new products on the shelf and when they do, it’s the cheaper stuff.

I guess it means be prepared to buy more stuff online.

your casual hobbyists will definitely take a hit, some of the hit locally is due to end of year - something about paying taxes on inventory. id expect to see shelves stock back up with stable brands. your smaller basher and air brands may start disappearing. Racers and shops that cater to them should be okay.

I’m sure some of the shortage has to do with end of year financial stuff but Hobbico’s bankruptcy includes all of their associated brands and there are more than a few. Arrma, Axial, Estes, Futaba, HPI, Tactic-you get the idea. There are going to be a lot of brands just gone if something can’t be worked out.
