So I ordered a Metra Dash Kit off of Amazon last week and it came the other day. Obviously I ordered the kit for the 05-10 Toyota Tacoma. When I opened the box, the first thing I went for was the main piece. I wanted to see the part that i ordered the kit for. It wasn't there... All I found was a little storage compartment, a couple brackets, and some screws. Then I found the instructions... 1990-1996 Chevrolet Corvette?!?!?!?

    ...fuck my life...

lol, they'll probably just send you a new one. Cost of shipping a product like that back and fourth is prohibitive.

I hope so. I'm waiting another half an hour to call them. But who do I call? I shipped from Metra Long Beach, but I'm pretty sure thats just a warehouse. That location in not on their company website. But, I ordered it from Amazon. Just call the warehouse?

Don't worry, you will still be dissapointed when you get the "correct" Metra kit. What a POS. Mine fits like sh!t.

    Anybody else feel this way?

I just called the Long Beach warehouse and some asian lady whom i could hardly understand answered. She was helpful though and told me to call the headquarters. So I did, and the lady that then answered was very very helpful. She know exactly what I was talking about, knew part numbers without having to look them up, and was very thorough. She was confused as to what had happened and how the warehouse messed up that bad. I immediately went and talked to her boss before he left for lunch (much appreciated) and checked their warehouse to make sure that they had the correct part in the correct color to shit me (again, much appreciated). I was told to keep the corvette one (my gfs parents have an older vette so it might fit) and that my new shipment is on the way.

This is how customer service should be. UNLIKE DDM TUNING! ...just wanted to throw that one out there.

Maybe I got a dud, but it's terrible. The hazard light button drags on the opening, the insert that surrounds my Double Din was warped to hell and had to be glued to the faceplate to get it even close to straight, the faceplate has a gap on the left side that gets wider at the bottom, and the fit at the top of the dash isn't even close. At least the texture and color is close.....

I plan on sanding mine smooth and reworking the edge with bondo to close the gaps, blend the trim ring into the faceplate, and slightly enlarge the hazard button opening. Or maybe just try a Schosche kit for shits and grins.

I hope you got a dud. The one I have now fits nice, its just boring and black. I can always switch them back if i dont like it.

That sounds like a lot of work for something so small. I would just buy a new one.
