I was in Henderson/Vegas 15-20 years ago and after 132 sunny days in a row, it rained. 600+ auto accidents in three hours. When you hit the brakes, it was like ice, from all the oils on the roads.

Hard to believe it was minus 14 last Sunday and now it's 60 above.
Fog and heavy rain all day and tonight, then a flash freeze tomorrow afternoon with temps dropping into the 20's again. The snow is just fogging away.
There may be severe icing North of me . Hope those affected make out OK.
    Ice storms are no joke.

That's why I shoveled my roof off Wednesday night; they were calling for an inch of rain and .5 of ice after that, and I had 2-3 feet of fluffy white sponge on my roof. So after work on Wed I got up and cleared it off. 1.5" of water is a LOT of weight. Fortunately the garage has a steel roof and is self-cleaning; we got a little bit of rain into it and it slipped off easier than skin off a burn victim.

I'm DEFINITELY making sure the generator is ready to go, though. If we lose power, I'm still watching the damn Patriots game.

There was a pause in the monsoon about half hour ago. I ran outside and soaped up the truck.
It's now on rinse and spin cycle.

Did you guys get that rain/freeze up/snow mess too? At my company's warehouse in Kirkwood the manager said that everything froze solid overnight and then they got 6 inches of snow on top of it.

I had at least a foot of snow at my house in East Irondequoit which is a suburb of Rochester from last nights storm.

I didn't get any pictures though, I need to get a GoPro for the dash. The ride into work was pretty interesting.

The hood of the truck has almost exactly 12" of snow on it. Underneath that is about 1/8" of ice.

It was nearly 60 degrees yesterday morning. By 4 PM, it had dropped to below freezing. Since it had been raining all day, everything got a coating of ice, and then it changed to freezing rain, and finally over to snow. Other than the drastic temperature drop, it was a pretty typical winter day around here.

We had ourselves a genuine Texas-level snow disaster on my way in to work this morning. It's a miracle I made it in.
Sorry for the blurry photos; my phone can't focus at all when there's snow in the air for some reason. Keeps trying to adjust focus as the flakes move.
