By the way, @ODNAREM or Ron to people that know him, is one hell of a cool dude. We have become good friends over the years. He never fails to surprise me. I've seen pictures of him with the OG gangster Ice Tea to David Grohl to Zakk Wylde. I'm sure this will be a great story too.

We call Ron "The Man of mystery", but he's a cool as dude.

 

Ok well i’m struggling to find additional pics as well as all my “Juice” magazine issues but here’s a little something for now.

So back in the yr 2009 after caregiving for my mom who unfortunately passed away from a cancerous brain tumor i was inspired to get back into skateboarding again.

I was already familiar with “Juice” magazine but had no idea about what my girlfriend Tina(asian girl/first pic)had set up for me.

She had contacted Terri Craft(owner of magazine/blonde in first pic)and proceeded to tell her what i had done for my mom and how i was inspired to skate again as a relief after my mom passed away.

On the particular day when i woke up in the morning i was not in the best of moods and in no hurry to go anywhere.My girlfriend proceeds to tell me that we’re going to go to Venice Beach,CA.for the day to visit one of her friends and i was not feeling it.

Well we get to Venice,park behind a house along the Venice Beach boardwalk and out comes Terri Craft welcoming us to her home and “Juice” magazine headquarters.

We walk inside and i couldn’t believe my eyes that Terri had invited Jeff Ho(legendary Zephyr Surfboards)over and pictured below in second pic.
Not only was Jeff invited but Eric Britton(pictured in top pic),Jesse Martinez whom is a legendary Venice skateboarder and the sole person who got the city of Los Angeles after a 20yr battle to get authorization to have the new Venice Beach skatepark be built.Eric Dressen and Ray Barbee also showed up.I really must continue my search for additional pictures i have of all of us together.It was a unforgettable day that i’ll never forget.We all had lunch together and then proceeded to go skate the skatepark.

I hope that i’ll be able to post up some more goodies for you all to see from what i chose to share.

 

Thanks Scooter!Yeah we never know what’s in store for each of us on a daily basis.My mom was the healthiest person i’d ever known and i honestly thought she’d live longer than myself.Important family and friends will always be with us in spirit!

Holy crap it's Ron without a beard!!!

How long have you known Tina?

 

You know the beard Brochocho!After my mom passed away i actually shaved the beard off and have had it grown back ever since then.
I’m 44 yr’s old as you know and have actually known Tina since i was 19 yr’s old.She used to be neighbors with my mom and others in the housing track.I would go over and visit my mom and that’s how i met Tina.Back in 2009 Tina and i weren’t together but friends.After my mom passed away in 09 being in a relationship wasn’t on my mind.It was around a yr and a half,two yr’s later that we evolved into a relationship.So we’ve been together somewhere between 6-7 yr’s.

 

Ron never lets us down. Another Mysterious Ron adventure story with pictures. I need to add this story to the list of Ron stories.

Tina hasn't aged a day. She looks just as beautiful now as back then. But you Ron, I like the bearded wonder better.

Jeff Ho!!! that is him. Is that hippy still around?

this thread brings back some good memories..i was a pretty hardcore skater through out the 80s..I sold my boards a few years back when i found out how much people were willing to pay for them.Kinda regret selling them but i knew my skater days were long gone.

Skated yesterday for about 2 hours at the Chandler, AZ skatepark. Been about 2 years since I hit it up before I blew my knee out and although the local crew I used to hang out with is more or less scattered by the winds to the four corners of the Earth, the skatepark persists and it was a pretty good session in 60˚ weather...!

Got several of these frontside slashers (screen cap from GoPro vid my 11 year old took for me):



Felt really good to skate this park and get some old lines back. Even front 50-50 stalled this same QP and didn't die!

Only bummer is I got a leg cramp/pulled muscle in my right calf which abruptly ended the session. Need to start stretching on a regular basis again, do some push ups, jumping jacks and in general lose this fucking flab I gained over the last 24 months.

Looking at going back to the backyarder that I was at previously this weekend since Sunday lunch sessions are open to anyone who knows the owner, which I now do!
