Off the lot but it's EXACTLY the truck I would have built on Toyota's website, even down to the color.

I wanted to downsize from an F-150 but did not want to go from an 8 foot bed to a 5 bed. Went to the dealerships in my area and found a 2015 MGM 4x4 DCLB. Was what I was going to order. Didn't have to wait for an ordered truck. Perfect.

I had been watching dealer inventory online. When they had 2 4WD regular cabs available, I stopped in. One was a 2013 with manual, the other was a 2014 automatic. Both were new. Dave Ramsey would have told me to buy the 2013 since it would have been cheaper. I wanted an automatic, so I bought the automatic. Drove off in the Tacoma that Saturday morning. In this area, door jam protectors and sliding rear window were mandatory options. The only choice was automatic or manual. The truck I bought was red, which would have been my first choice anyway, since they did not offer yellow.

As time went by, I added my own options: TRD skid plate, tool box, cargo divider, intermittent wiper switch, cargo floor D-rings, and an HD radio, which I replaced again with an HD radio with navigation.

I have a 5-lug RC; If I ever bought another Taco for whatever reason, it would be a 4x4. A manual transmission would be preferred but not required.

I'd prefer to have extra rear seat space and a long bed, but I don't much care for the look of the DCLB. This does not mean I would not buy a DCLB if the right one came along at the right price. As for the DCSB, my RC has more bed space!

That said, I think if I upgraded, I'd get a 2015 AC 4x4, with a bare minimum of the SR5 trim. What really sucks is you can't get any 2.7L models, even with the 4-speed slushbox, with the TRD package!

So, what does everyone else think?

As for why I didn't include AC 5-lugs in the poll, I think the longer-wheelbase trucks (AC and DCLB) look better lifted...

Access cab is the best looking, IMO.

You forgot DCLB in the poll.

If i could go back i would have bought DCSB over my access cab. You can go out with your friends, tuck huge sub boxes behind the seats, and you can add roof racks and a bed extender to make up for the smaller bed.

DCSB. I can haul friends around and when I have kids, it'll still be comfortable.

The ac is not for more than 2 people.
We are old and it’s just us two 99% just me. When we have the granddaughter we use her rig.

I have to vote for the DCLB but I am biased of course.

If I didn't have family, I would love a Reg cab. But I would want it with the Off Road package. V6, Auto, Rear Locking diff, upgraded interior.
Otherwise I like the DCSB that I have. So that gets my vote since what I want doesn't exist and it's wishful thinking.
