What have you done to your Tacoma today? 1st Gen Edition

I never liked it when the RR is anywhere near where the tire (or debris off the tire) could potentially touch them. I recall when Jason tucked his inside of the front skid plate. That seems like the best solution. I really like the placement of the RR that Dan did. @drr

Wow Sparcos have been on my list for a long time but those look really tall, do you sit high now? I'm 6' 3" is there any hope I'd even fit with these?

 

Dan's is in a great place. And yeah Jason put his under the front skid, also a good spot i think. I think Tony did that with his foxes too when I told him about it.

 

Brett is like Ben...almost literally in size and build. Im sure he fits.

The bottom of the seat isn't that much higher than the stock one. It's got a Sparco slider and an old sparco mount I hacked up and welded the original bases to.

Could easily get it an inch or two lower.

I'm 5"8" and like the increased height.

They don't even make a mounting plate for a 1st gen.

 

His didn't anyways. But he got it from a 2nd gen dude and had to mod the mount.

I think mastercraft makes suspension seats with brackets you can get.

I want to just get some comfy ass luxury seats and make em fit haha

 

Oh that's good to know, my original plan was to buy the corbeau brackets and bolt the Sparcos to it since they use similar patterns on the bottom.

 

Oh okay thought you were just ditching them completely! Spacers would make you really appreciate those coilovers!

 

Decided to get up somewhat early today and bust tail on finishing my sliders. Mission accomplished! Install should hopefully be tomorrow.

 

if i get 2.5 coilovers is that the coil inner diameter? planning on upping them to 10 inch long 700 pond coils. be running steel plate bumper, 12,000 pound winch with synthetic line, steel skid plates, lights. coil overs im looking at are https://downsouthmotorsports.com/i-...09.html#!model=TACOMA||make=TOYOTA||year=2001

 

Put on some extended lug nuts, also fixed the rear window in my topper with some plexiglass. Should have tinted it. Maybe later.

 

You would get a 3” diameter coil. Why 10” that’s pretty short. I just upped mine today from a 13” 650lb to a 14” 700lb spring

Oh ok. I’d see if fox can upgrade them to 700lbs. I know that’s an option with the icons

Heck, my kings definilty don’t feel like pillows at the moment. Maybe it’s just the cold?

Go King’s if you can. Everyone on here that goes that route ends up happy. Someday I will swap my Icons out for them.
