timing belt replacement

I have 01 tacoma prerunner v6. planning to replace timing belt, but description ask with oil cooler or w/o oil cooler. How do i know if my truck does or doesn't and does it matter?

 

The automatic transmissions were the only ones with oil coolers.

The oil cooler is on the driver's side of the lower engine block towards the rear from the oil filter. Most USDM engines have them. The oil cooler is a round "can" with a two coolant hoses attached to it. Unfortunately it has little correlation with whether or not you have an automatic or standard transmission. It's for cooling the engine oil.

I’ve done this timing belt job before (but with the engine out of the vehicle) and I just watched this 2hr video... for fun... I have issues. Timmy always puts out great vids.

I got my parts from him too. He has a few bundles too. I decided to order more parts not included from Toyota Dallas. I think a tensioner and a few others.

That's actually a good deal as long as all the parts are what they say they are! There is a disclaimer in there saying "Country of origin of individual parts may vary" - not exactly what I want to hear though lol.

 

We've bought several kits through them and they are always top quality Japanese parts. Don't know what the 'Country of Origin' thing is about.
