Need to get some hours behind the wheel, which won't happen for a while. Think I'm really going to enjoy the support, just not sure about the bolster in the front. Might get annoying when clutching.

I'm still going to pull the interior to sound deaden and clean. Just wanted to get this mount done.

Enough to make it a lot of fun!
He still has to clean all of his legos out of the truck before vacuuming. :D

Hard to tell from the photo, but assuming it's a one and done type of positioning? No forward or back movement?

Ah I see it now, I was confused since you welded the bracket the slider mounts to to the old slides.

For your in cab winch switch, did you just T into the in/out wires at the socket? Run the blue and the yellow to the output from the switch? Do I need anything run to the red or black?

What!? Finally getting a winch? Haha

I just took apart my controller and fed the wires inside. Not ideal though because it would still be nice to have the remote.

I did, been sitting in the garage for a few months, doing some major overhauls in the engine bay and bumper mounting, so throwing it on at the same time. And yeah, I want to have ability for both.

Mine is T'd into the wires at the solenoid. Came like that from the previous owner.

He did provide a wiring diagram of how it was done I'll post when I get home.

Edit - my solenoid is under the hood, so one set of wires goes to the in-cab switch, and another to the plug in the bumper.

Cool, based on the above diagram, not sure why the relays are there, the solenoid trigger doesn't draw much power does it? Haven't actually opened it up to see if the realys are there, i'll take a look.

Relays are there, wiring diagram is correct, so I think just running the hots from the incab switch to yellow/blue should do it.

I don't have any relays, but based on the wiring diagram, you should be correct. Just tie into the yellow and blue at the relay, plug, or wherever works best.

My switch is also powered from the winch solenoid power so it can be turned on anytime. Don't know if that's the best setup, just how it was. There is a winch power switch I have to turn on in the cab before I can use the in/out switch.

Took it back to the scale are weighed the rear axle. Came out to 2,360 lbs. So getting the process started to get some Alcans.

Welded in a Vibrant ultra quiet resonator. Huge improvement. It got rid of all the annoying ricey sounds.

    [IMG]IMAG0449 by brettbjorgum, on Flickr

Then started ripping apart the interior.

Cleaning and sound deadening to come.

Hope so. Should be a huge improvement in comfort.

Also happy that after this, welding up some limit straps, and tossing on the new Springs, that I'll be ready to go for the spring.

I have a good sound system. By the time I made it loud enough to cover all the other noises than I really couldn't hear anything.

    :brianr:

It'll just be super dirty again after the first trip, don't know why I bother.

Also, who in here knows about HAM radio antennas and mounts? I'll be going that direction eventually, but thinking about drilling a hole in my roof and adding an antenna mount while it's super easy to pull the headliner and run the coax.
