MT stuff, RTT stuff, the usual.
FR300 towards WCL was open today, not sure how far west, but past the WCL turn off. There’s almost no snow up there, road looked good.

Other side (Ranger station side) was closed.

All other paved roads were open & dry.

So im throwing around a few ideas to the old lady about possibly moving to the valley. I have a few questions for yall if your comfortable answering them. feel free to pm me also!

-what is your average household income down there? (don't need exact numbers just round numbers)
    -Are you salary or hourly?
-are you working with or without a 4 year degree?
-are you or anyone you know working for Nestle Waters?

My wife and I are from Flagstaff, born & raised. We moved to Phx with our company 2 yrs. after we got married in 2009, then moved home in 2015 after our daughter was born.

The move down was good for us:
    • More opportunity to prove ourselves at work (resulting in good pay increases)
    • Better real estate options (more bang for your buck)
    • Lower cost of living overall (cause Flg is fucking expensive)
    • Great people (we were bummed to leave our friends & coworkers)
    Of course YMMV.
In our journey, we stayed with the same company from Flag to Phx & back and there are certain aspects of company culture and circumstances that come into play, but Phoenix was a great move and experience for us, and we wouldn't be where we are (back in Flg) living like we are without our valley adventure.

Phoenix has a lot to offer for a couple looking to strike it out on their own. That's what my wife and I were able to capitalize on from '09 to '15, and even though we are excited to be back home, I know we would have been doing just fine if we would have stayed down there.

I'll PM you with some more specific answers to the questions you posed.

My home cost 180k when I bought it in Gilbert, its now almost 220k

The best value for a home to buy right now is QC (near avid) You can easily get 2000-3500sq ft from there to STV for under 260k. But you can get lucky and find nice places in mesa/Chandler with no HOA. Just be prepared to lose a house or two do to being outbid.

I make hourly, but im expecting salary if I make it thru the transition of the company.

4 year degree, in 3 years. Still haven't really seen the benefits of that degree. I have friends in similar careers making more without.

Cant say i know anyone at Nestle. What do you do for them?

Pretty much... but the Guard/Reserve option is still a consideration.

Depending on jobs an placement is where we would end up looking for a home. So that would come with time.

Well I work for Nestle Purina as of now here in flag. So I could potentially have an easy in for the Nestle water plant in PHX
They are essentially two differnt company's owned by the same corporation.

This guy only has 39 messages, doesn't look like he ever found his way in here. However, a fellow AZ just got a ban, pour one out for the hommie!

My guess is that you would see a Diesel Taco before a Diesel Tundra... and probably a turbo gasser before a turbo diesel in the Taco.

    So, don't hold your breath?
