I’m in Crystal city but I’m always down to ride wherever haha. Have you ever ridden out in the GW forest?

Funny thing is that this is the shortest commute that I've ever had since 1979. Straight outta high school, living up within 2 miles of Peters Mill Run, I used to drive to Tysons Corner to work at Tysons Toyotas body shop...and that was when I-66 only went as far as Gainesville

 

No haven't been out there yet, usually ride Reston/difficult run or Fountainhead.

 

Fountainhead or Wakefield are my go tos. GW forest has a ton of great riding but lots of climbing. I recommend getting out there if possible

 

Do you work in Crystal City? I used to live right there where it meets Pentagon City.

 

I've seen him a few times also. I walked out of Golds the other day and had a blue 3rd gen sport with a pro grill parked next to me. Guy had the same cheapo phone mount on his dash as me. Gave me a good laugh!

 

I'm on S Clark street right by the Pentagon.

 

Its a pretty decently built ride. I am sure he lurks on TW.

Does anyone local have the skills/tools to cut a piece of aluminum? I want to get a piece cut to add a flat top panel to my Voodoo Rack.

Rough measurements would be 39 1/4" long, either 18" or 24" wide, and have a 1.5" 90 degree L fold on either end so I can bolt it up.

 

I've got a hacksaw, vice, and hammer.

With the 90 degree bend, you might be better off talking to a machine shop because they'll have the brake to do the bend. I can give you the name of a shop we use at work in the Waldorf, MD area if you want it.

Yeah I was thinking about just having the edge hang over a workbench and hammering the 90 degree part. What shop did you use in Waldorf?

 

That's a long 5 minute walk! I used to park at the Lennox club before I started carpooling.
