2002 wr250f make a good starter forest road explorer? Looks like it has a headlight which is nice, I want to have something that's plated.

So true. I've been stuck right over 300 but made some changes and now to 235. So much easier moving around again. Easier to work on the truck. Working to get to my Marine Corp killing weight 175. :p

Over 300? No wonder it's dipping down to the front left

Is it already street legal? Depending on the county you live in it could be difficult to make it street legal. Are you looking to buy it or do you already have it? What's your budget?

Not sure, just saw it posted. I'd be looking to buy since it doesn't look like we'll get any snow this season. I have that Honda but it's not street legal and it'd be quite a pain to load it up to drive 5 minutes, then get back in the truck covered in crap.

Got a link to where ya saw it? That motor needs more maintanince that a wr250r, but still less than a yz. The exhost may be a little louder than what your looking for, but should be able to changed easly to quiet it down. It should have a headlight and a small taillight.
Most of the new ones I see at dealers have spots for license plates To be street legal you need a dot rated tire and a mirror on the left side only, along with headlight and tail light.

Nice to see ya looking in the Yamaha family :fistbump:

If it’s the bike I just came across on CL ya think he woud of cleaned it up and had more pics

    They were asking $2k

Yeah i should probably get gear first, or at least essentials.

Do you just want something cheap? I'm pretty anti Japanese (except the yz) but the yami is probably the best of the bunch there. If I wanted something that was pretty versatile I'd go with a 390 RR or 300 SEF-R. Both of those are tough to find used though.

Yeah just want something to start on...

Biggest musts are street legal, ability to silence the exhaust and I'll figure out a way to attach some bags for a little storage.

On another note, if anyone is up for some winter snowshoe 14er bagging, I'm looking to hit up a bunch in three 10 mile and mosquito range near fairplay.

Heading out to Mt Sherman now, if I don't post back... It'll be my first.
