Same motor as a YZF of the same year except for the stator and the wider ratio trans. Valve clearances will need to be checked and shimmed to spec ever few rides (a clean, properly oiled air filter will help prevent dust and dirt from getting in and speeding up valve wear). If you find you can only get a ride or two after shimming, valves will probably need to be replaced along with the seats recut to factory spec. Be wary buying an old 4 stroke. Some can be time bombs. Though I'm sure you have much cleaner bikes to pick from up in CO than I do down in LA.

I'm outside of Mesquite, NV now and they're having a car show for the weekend. Wish I took a pic, there's a guy sporting maybe a 1948 Buick sedan, rusted body with a rusted teardrop trailer looks like it came out of a junkyard, but a modern drivetrain underneath. Maybe I can swagger a restomod like that someday.

No! Not that fat tire pig! It will wonder all over way to much. Now the xt250 wound be a good option. It’s reliable and quieter.

He can try riding a xt250 and them my wr250r once he gets a helmet

I have used it a couple times sold stuff too. I ussally look at the feedback and who is selling it if its a dealer i ussally look them up see if they have any bad reviews on google or other sites. For the most part its pretty safe!

Heck meet a local nfa dealer on there. Now we are good friends and help one another out.

Cool, good to know. How do you navigate the way too good to be true thing? Like 1,000 rounds of 5.56 for a bid of $25? Or a 1911 potentially worth $2k for a bid if $.01?

It will never end at those prices people will bid it up! Its like ebay for guns. Most sellers will post a reserve or buy it now if it doesnt hit that mark they dont have to sell it. Look at the time left on the action if its more than a couple days it will likely keep going up. Just depends on the market! Also note check shipping fees somtimes its free somtimes is 50 bucks or more. If buying a gun double check what your dealer will charge to do a transfer it will most likely go up after Feb 1 since CBI is rasing the BGC fee to 15.00 dollars:mad: expect 25-30 bucks total

Yeah that all makes sense. I’m looking at a few things and there’s a 1911 with no current bids ending in a few hours. What’s the reserve mean? I’ve never used EBay either so I’m not familiar with the auction aspect.
