yeah, I hunt in Queen Anne Co. on Md's eastern shore, bow season starts in Septicktember, and goes till the end of January, with unlimited doe's, me thinks there mebbe another county or so that has that also.

and to answer- JDAM, steady 16-20 mph winds with gusts even higher, is not condusive to accurate targeting, whilst bow hunting, in my 40 plus years of hunting. :notsure:

I think your statement "open till the end of the year" should have been 'till the end of the SEASON' - I thought you could hunt year around (no closed season) from this statement. Ohio has a similar season - sometime in mid-September start till the end of January. But, not unlimited does, I think you can get a max of 6 deer (1 buck) if you have the 6 tags.

i did in my last, yet not my 1st post, put in until the end of January, also during the deer hunting season, one in certain counties can take 10 does with muzzleloader, 10 does with a gun, and unlimited does with a bow. that is a shit-ton of venison for sho!!

most I got when I lived there was 4 deer each season, working full time I didnt have a ton of time or the right place to hunt, I had a nice neighbor that let me hunt on the back side of his property. Still a good long season there, and a ton of deer.

Terrible nuisance here and most everywhere else they roam. Highly destructive and provide nothing benificial other than something to shoot at.

Not here as allot of poison is illegally laid out for them - matter of contention here as other game animals can get to it as well - but opening one up last year I saw the first “blue sow” with all blue fat. Weirdest thing I ever saw. Brother still in Texas takes a couple a week and he and his friends butcher them and donate most of the meat to local church food pantries.

Is the poison put out by DFG? Seems weird that a state/federal agency would put out poison and let you hunt for them at the same time.

It’s property owners that are doing it and it’s illegal here. They are willing to pay the fines because they are a pittance in comparison to the cost of damage that they are saving.

They always have a 50/50 chance with me because I have such buzzard luck. This would be my first crossbow and since I don’t retire bows often I imagine I’ll be keeping it for a long while. Case in point, I retired my 1996 Alpine Rebel TC in 2014 for a Hoyt Faktor Turbo. Friends says it’s because I’m cheap but they still put food in the freezer so I don’t see the need.
