I like it has four doors and looks a little bigger. We have a Ranger at work as our 2nd ambulatory vet truck and I hate it. It's a cute little truck, but it feels so small inside. And I hate access doors with the jump seats. It's okay as a vet truck, but when I was considering a midsized truck to replace my F150, the Ranger immediately went out the window. So I'd be interested in seeing how the inside of the new Ranger feels as far as space, but would I get it over my Tacoma? Not a snowball's chance

    Edit
Oh, hey! I think that's where I live lol. Just noticed.

I don't believe people's experience (good or bad) with previous Rangers will pertain to this rig. It's a whole new ballgame. Nothing to compare it to as it's DNA has no heritage. There's been too long of a gap between the generations. That means no evolution...which means no direct comparison.

Whether it's a gem or a turd will be determined on it's own merit or lack thereof.

No V6 and no manual trans. Glad I traded my 01 Ranger for a Tacoma!

I could see that except for the Ranger Raptor. I could see the Raptor being more expensive than the Pro or ZR2 but it may be worth it if they put in an upgraded engine like they do with the F150 variant.

The Raptor version of it will be sweet. Ive heard talks of it having the twin-turbo 2.7-L V6 ecoboost out of the F150s... if so, that thing will rip!

Transmission is great from my experience in the f150 I have. 2018.

I would bet they will be releasing more power trains as the months go on, diesel will definitely be an option. Wonder what the frontier will be like?

Agree. Can't compare to 30 and 20 yo Rangers.
I had a '87 XLT Regular cab. Fine truck in it's day.

That turbo I-4 might not be too bad, recall some Toyota fans would like to see one put in the Tacoma.

Assuming it will be derived out of the Mustang, that thing puts out 310hp/320-350 tq.

Real curious of what the mpg's are going to be.

Willing to bet they will introduce a V6 and a diesel in the future.

Especially given the lengthy gap between this new model and the last model. New models tend to evolve from previous models. That's not the case here.

The only DNA this new one shares with the last gen is it's name

I think it looks painfully identical to the Chevy Colorado.

According to TFL Truck[1], we won't see any other engine options.

Not everyone’s. Mine sure the hell isnt

It just seems people want to complain about something even if it’s ok by others. And being NA for the Tacoma shouldn’t matter a lot of people boost them
