Whether people boost them or not....the1GR was designed as a NA motor.

The TRD supercharger was a developmental after thought and operates well within the block's capability

Why is the front end soooooo uglyeee!

Honest question: Why is it so hard to design an incredibly strong and appealing look on the front end. This is a new build and complete redesign - one would think if some good engineering was put in developing an awesome front end look on this it would fly of the show rooms...but...BUT instead it doesn't just look like every other truck it looks worse.

I don't get it. Does aerodynamics and the goal of high MPG force ugly lines like this?

No crew cab long bed (per the TFL vid)?? I am also not a fan of the interior from the pics we have gotten so far.

What's going on with the front end?

Other than that, it looks pretty good. Easily the second best looking after the Taco.

Pedestrian impact regulations shape front ends as much as aerodynamics do these days

I'm a bit surprised that the 2.7 ecoboost won't be an option. It will be interesting to see the power and MPG on this 2.3.

I kinda like the interior from what I have seen. I can´t get over this back glass, what are you supposed to do with that window?

Ummm you do realize a lot of people feel the same way about the 3rd Gen front end.

It's grown on me a bit, but a lot of people think it's ugly as shit

That shouldn't be surprising in the midsize segment (if the case). Few want crew cab long beds.

They have lost my interest with 2.3L, auto start/stop BS, and 10spd tranny, I personally am sick of small displacement engines, too many gears to hunt for and although I have not had a Ford with auto stop/start, I have no interest in experiencing it whatsoever

YES! I am one of these people...it's grown on me too...as it's the best of the uglies out in the market.

My point/frustration is not with this truck alone.. but all newly "re-designs". In mind it just seems like something so easy to accomplish bit it seems the entire industry can't innovative something simply eye catching in a good way.

I like the amber marker light on the front wheel well. Toyota missed on this.

Auto start/stop can be disabled from what I have read. The 10 speed will actually hunt less because there are more interval points for fine tuned shifting, think of it as 1st, 1.5, 2nd, 2.5, and so on. So where a 5 or 6 speed is hunting back and forth because it can´t decide if it should be in 3rd or 4th, this one will pick the middle point and won´t surge. Now there are no confirmed numbers on what the 2.3L Ecoboost will do in this Ranger, but it should be fairly decent. We won´t know until some real world results come in.
