You’re gonna have to explain that one. I don’t see a cod piece anywhere.

Believe the 3rd gen Tacoma buyer is different from us hard core old Toyota guys who have become disgruntled with Toyota, and keep on waiting for them to bring back the old tough work horse which got us buying Toyotas in the first place, but they never do...they just keep on watering it down.

Ranger is looking good, fully boxed frame, giving an educated guess hp/tq is going to be around 300...now if the mpg is 25 HWY+...and option it for around $30K, I am sold.

3rd gen grill is massive...looks like a cod piece. effin' Dodge started this giant grill trend. Can't stand it.

I liked the front ends much better in the 90's.

I really hope you are being sarcastic.
That 90 grille looks like and old Rambler with a flux capacitor behind it.
The whole truck looks totally outdated.

Can't stand how the 3rd Gen looks....it has become bloated and machismo, without much substance underneath. Payloads have become laughable in recent years.

Engines have finally come around power-wise, but the mileage still blows. Especially now that fullsizes can beat it, and offer a lot more.

    Yes sir!

The early 80's and the '01-'04's Tacomas are probably the best looking Toyotas.

Ohh, thought what you meant was how to fix the Tacoma.

If I had to buy something "today", it would be a F-150 with a 2.7 Ecoboost.

But in reality, just wait for the Ranger...it is looking good from what little I have seen so far. Almost pulled the trigger on a 3rd Gen Tacoma a couple months ago, but I keep on turning my nose up at it. Trying to force myself to like it, but you shouldn't have to that on something you're gonna drop that kind of cash on.

But that's full size. Apples to oranges.
I wouldn't buy the Ranger because its a Ford, engines no big difference, - Toyota Lexus quality vs 2.3 L, looks not so good, emergency braking, off road cruise (lol). It's not a shattering newcomer by any means. Kind of a dud really.

Honestly, no... But, I have about 1700 lbs of tools and test equipment in it though, and it is a long bed crew cab. Might be a different story if it had a short wheelbase and less weight.

Now that you have mentioned it though, it will probably drive me nuts haha.
