I was looking at the 3 lug myself. Pricey system, looks sweet though.

I’ve heard good things about dead air, I really enjoyed my hands on (non-firing) visit with my Optimus, still waiting on approval.

How long have you waited so far? I really need to just take the plunge and buy a suppressor.

Form 4 submitted 07/11/2017, filed via trust so I’m expecting 2 more months.

I got caught in the bubble last year, so it was 12.5 months for a trust. :frusty:

Ugh..I need one suppressor to do it all. I shoot pistol calibers most since I'm in the city though. So probably go that route.

1/2 x 28 thread on. works on my AR-9, Keltec sub 2k, glock 17, and glock 43... the latter two with very new faxon threaded barrels! i keep a KAK flash can on the AR-9 the rest just have thread protectors. one stamp, one can, 4 guns. but I'm still waiting on the stamp :angrygirl:

That's why I went with the Hybrid. It's multi-cal and multi-mount capable, including 3-lug and direct thread.

My Griffin Checkmate took I think 14 months, may have been longer, it just came back in May/June.

I went with the Optimus because it will work on any gun I own except my 7.5” 556 upper, and my .40 upper for my M&P (i have another slide with a 9mm silencerco barrel for when I want to suppress it).
Yes I’m going to spend some $ on mounts ($175 for the A2 adapter, it will make it work on all my AR’s except AR9, which has a flash can on it, $200 for the 3 lug setup) but because of the mounting systems available everything works, a simple direct thread won’t work for me.

I went from July '16 to July '17.

I chose the SilencerCo Hybrid for that reason as well and yes it can get expensive for the different mounts and caliber combos. Still cheaper than multiple stamps.

    PISTOL: 9mm TO .45 ACP

    RIFLE: 5.56mm TO .45-70 GOV

I got some reseach to do. That Optimus sounds pretty handy. Mounts might cost you, but if you can swap it between multiple firearms cheaper than a bunch of suppressors.

I really hope the trust wait times start dropping, individuals are coming back decently quickly.

Way, Way cheaper, it is cool the Hybrid will shoot up to .46 cal.

Definitely do research, I researched cans for 18 months before I bought my Optimus, still almost got a Griffin Alpha (Used to be called something else) instead but I was planning on buying the parts for my (now) AR-9 and the AR-9 with a 4.75" barrel, 6.6" suppressor, and Modified Uzi Mags seems like a very, very fun "bump in the night" gun.

The Optimus can be configured in several different lengths, it can be a 6.6" "pistol" length for 9mm and .300 BLK (9.5" barrel supersonic, 8" subsonic) and 14.5" 556, compatible with direct thread, piston booster, and 3 lug systems at this length.

A 7.9" "mid size" configuration, compatible with all minimalist taper mount devices from Griffin Armament, 16" barrel rating for .308 and 6.5 creedmoore, 12.5" 6.8 SPC, 8" 7.62X39, 8" 300 BLK Super/sub, and 10.5" 556.

An 8.4" A2 configuration, same barrel length ratings, just an adapter that will convert any "in spec" A2 device to attach the suppressor, as well as all of Griffins A2 mounts.

And lastly, a 9.4" "full size" mount that is compatible with all of Griffins taper mount devices (both full size and minimalist), this allows use of 300 Win Mag with a 24" barrel, .308 and 6.5 CM with a 14.5" barrel, all other calibers keep the same barrel length rating.

For weights the lightest configuration is 12 ounces (I assume direct thread) and the heaviest is 17.6 ounces.

A drawback of the Optimus is it is limited to 9mm as the largest for pistols and 300 Win Mag as the largest for rifles, so you won't be shooting any 45-70 through it like you would the Silencerco Hybrid .46, however this was not an issue for me as .308 is the largest caliber I own other than 12 gauge.

Steel cased ammo out of an AR9 any drawbacks? Honestly have never used steel in an AR platform only AK.
