But you guys all made my point crystal clear! If this is not something that appeals to you....don't move into a community set up that way and get mad if they won't change for you! But....in terms of the garage door fiasco.....well they need to be invited to the "stop reproducing" society.

EDIT: But to respond to what Carl said....it is not really like that. The community can most definitely challenge the board and have it reversed if the majority wishes it to be. It is not a situation that you just have to take without any lube and that is where people are misguided.

 

Problem is, most everywhere around here is HOA

 

Again though....HOA's can be great if they actually work for the community. If not....that will be a terrible place to call home.

 

There is always some dispute going on down here in So CA.: real grass vs fake grass, type of screen door, color of your front door etc. But the one that gets me is the rule of not allowing someone to fly the American flag.

 

True. I've got buddies who live in them and for the most part have no problems, except when I come over. But that's pretty much wherever I go.

 

My 'hood' doesn't have an HOA; there were once covenants, but they expired.

I am the VP off my HOA. The only time that a fine (lean) can be placed on the property is if you do not pay the HOA fees. Fines for weeds junk cars closed garage doors trash bins left out well you can wipe your ass with those. Before I was the VP I actually did and mailed it back. Never heard back from them. I got involved because the neighborhood was starting to go to shit. Owners renting the houses and renter's not taking caree of them.

I've only had BFG's and they always lasted 3+ years on my daily drivers. Both A/T's and Muds.

 

According to the original article some ways back. I believe they caught people converting the garage to bedrooms and allowing people to live in them. But leaving the garage door closed and intact to cover it up.

 

Even wear no radial bands showing. I truly am impressed

They had one on the news here, I dont know where it was but someone got "offended", This is America...if you get offended by the American Flag. Go live somewhere else.

 

So get this shit we have a staff of 7 here myself (white) and 6 others one white and 5 African American as they want to be called.
We don't get MLK day off or is it a floating day as a paid holiday. But we do get the day after Thanksgiving the day before Christmas and the day before New Years off.

And we only get July 4th,Thanksgiving,Christmas,New years.Labor day, Memorial day and Veterans day. So in reality we get 10 days paid off w/ the day before or after Thanksgiving,Christmas and New Years. this is the amount of Federal holidays given.
Now we have these employees who have taken today off (MLK) are threatening to sue if they don't get paid and or get fired for not showing up to work.....

Should be a very interesting Tuesday here....

 

Fine print. They new it was not a day off when they took the job. IT SHOULD BE AN OPEN AND SHUT CASE. In today's world of opinion based "mistreatment" it probably will not end well.
