There is no longer any legal requirements for CCW license in Arizona. Anyone who is not a prohibited possessor can conceal carry, with obvious restrictions such as federal courthouses and anytime an establishment owner posts a sign. However, it's wise to get one anyway because A) You should. B) Reciprocity with some 30+ other states.

As long as you're not a prohibited possessor/can legally own a firearm, you are able to purchase a pistol and carry it just remember that not all locations allow firearms. I was with Tucson PD until I moved so I'm familiar with AZ's requirements.

    Some reading/facts:
    https://www.azdps.gov/services/public/cwp
    https://www.azleg.gov/ars/13/03112.htm
    http://apps.azsos.gov/public_services/Title_13/13-09.pdf

What's wrong with obtaining a conceal carry permit? Fast tracks your firearm purchase which is a positive in my opinion and most people on backpage are starting to require having a CCW even with a private sale.

Love how people are setting up the Tacomas as war machines. Like T1000 from Terminator will jump on your hood while you are in full reverse and you're unloading clips into him... If I am engaging someone, I will not be in the seat long enough to use both clips. Another thing to think about is if you have a concealed and say someone is breaking into your car or trying to get at you and you are," In fear of your life". You will not be unloading clips into someone. You will fire a single shot IF you can't get away.

Say if you did shoot someone in self defense, you think you are walking away from the scene after the cops show up? Hell no. They will take pictures of the crime scene and that is all I want them to see is that I have my truck setup with 2 clip holders and a quick release gun holder on the other side. Much harder to win a case if you look like you were ready for ISIS to try and carjack you.

The one time you need more rounds to save your life is when you’ll wish you spent five minutes preparing ahead of time. I guarantee I will fire more than a single shot every time to stop a threat.

Perfect reason to carry extra rounds. http://www.latimes.com/nation/la-na-new-york-biker-trial-20150519-story.html

Please show me a case in which someone legally exercised their right to self defense and was convicted for being too prepared.

I keep a double mag pouch with a paddle back in the cup holder of the driver's door. That way as I unass the truck as any smart person would during a firefight I can take it with me. With the paddle back I just slip it in my waistband or belt instead of having loose magazines flopping around or falling out. Sticking a loose magazine in your waistband is asking to lose it as you move to cover. Of course the double mag pouch I edc on my belt is much smarter as there's no forgetting it during stressful situations.

Why not. It’s better to have it and not need it than it is to need it and not have it.

AZ is slick as shit as it pertains to certain things. This was already answered in the thread but...any ATV (normal off-hwy vechicle) that would normally not be allowed on any paved surface can not only be plated in AZ but once it has plates can then be driven ANYWHERE except on an interstate...without a helmet.

My personal favorite was seeing an old Command Recon Willys Jeep with a 50 cal mounted on a roll bar. Classic AZ.

Nice install and write-up OP. I agree, easy access and immediate availability. Question: I assume you pull the mags with your left hand, reaching down. Any reach or clearance problems? Did you consider rotating the mount?

For me it's the whole 'look what we got here' during a routine traffic stop and question after question keeps being asked. I live in NYS Not F' ing city either that's worse and it's own permit. And no I cant carry there either .

    I’d have to respectfully disagree.
The people inside the vehicle were throwing shit at the bikers.
It’s like throwing rocks at a wasps nest.
I understand their frustration of not being able to fanagle through all those bikers but their actions put them and their daughter in harms way.

I’d like to see that angle argued as not looking for a confrontation.

It's not the best example but it still holds true. Having a piece of fruit and a water bottle thrown at you does not equate to destroying someone's vehicle, dragging the driver out and beating them. The bikers are lucky the occupants of the vehicle didn't have firearms.

If you are going through 2 mags in self defense, you're a shit shot and should go to the range before carrying a gun. Let me just type in "Man shoots in self defense gets prison time" in google. Wow a whole list comes up. Also watched a documentary on Netflix called Miami SWAT. 2nd or 3rd episode. A man was sitting at a gas station, guy tries car jacking the man, he pulls a gun out, shoots him once in the gut. The guy dies and guess what happen? He was later convicted of murder.. I am not saying anything else about this subject. DO as you will. Try explaining to a jury why you have 2 clips of ammo next to your seat. "Trigger happy" or "Was looking to shoot someone" will I am sure be brought up in court. Don't think that the cops will arrive, give you a pat on the back and you'll be off on your way..Shot don't work like that. Its a cool setup you have, just watch yourself is all I am trying to say. I love guns as well. Rules of engagement, whats right or wrong is skewed.

EDIT: I am with you on self defense. It angers me seeing protesters pulling people from cars and beaten. I would pull a gun in self defense. Will I win? Depends on who's sitting on the Jury. Bunch or gun fearing old ladies and liberals or a bunch of MERICA gun wielding veterans. BUT I won't be carrying 2 mags quick and ready to go. I will definitely take a couple extra steps so my case looks good in court.

You probably won’t ever need to go through two mags but it doesn’t hurt to be prepared. I have extra mags in the center console of my truck. Nothing fancy like this but they’re there just in case. I’m pretty sure anyone here would rather have legal problems than be killed or injured because they didn’t defend themselves.

Is it really that bad in USA that you have to walk/drive around armed? Just asking.....

People choose to carry firearms. They feel it’s necesary. You don’t. So you don’t. Simple as that.

Good god man, leave it alone. All that's gonna do is blow this thread into a huge 2nd amendment cons vs libs shitfest. We don't get it in Canada. You're not going to make anyone think of it differently south of the border. Especially in this thread.

You right. I’d rather continue talking about how Arizona is a REALLY nice place even with mad max laws.
