Just read that Chevy is coming out with their own 3.0 liter diesel in their Silverado to compete with Ram and Ford. Their claiming to spank the other 2 with mpgs also. Chevy’s will be an in-line 6 rather than a v6. Should be interesting to see what comes of it.

They didn’t say who made it for them, I guess that will come out at some point. They’re also using an aluminum body and a bunch of other features that copy other manufacturers.

I found another article that called it a Duramax. Doesn’t really mean anything except it’s likely not Cummins who’s making them. I would think they’d call it a Cummins if it was.
X2. Their engine options are fine although need to get more fuel efficient. I’d also like to see a heavier duty Toyota truck. Spec-wise, the Tundra gets spanked by the competition’s half tons with the heavy payload options. Toyota has nothing to compete with them.

Anyone in NH have any experience bringing their rig to Automotive Excess in Laconia? Need to get new wheels/tires mounted, an alignment, and finally get the truck inspected. There's a place closer to me in Plymouth (KTM Auto) that I've had good experiences with in the past with my old highlander when I was in grad school but is it worth my time trying to build a relationship with a shop that along with normal service, works on and builds rigs out of their shop. Worst case I just get an estimate from both and go with whats cheapest...even though I guess walmart would be my cheapest bet for the mount/balance and get them installed/aligned elsewhere.

Cheaper isn't always better - especially with an alignment... I would go to a shop that has more experience with lifted trucks.

Just got home from the auto show. The oldest and I spent a good part of the day wandering around. He sat in any car, truck or van that he could and I got to check out the trucks from every manufacturer and do a compare/contrast mental note.

If it were up to him, probably the Lexus F sport something or other. That was his favorite car, little 2 door go-fast car. Personally, I liked the $75k Ram Cummins full dress model. The interior was really nice. That one and the 1794 Tundra I thought had the best interiors.

Little hot rod fan you have. I'll hopefully squeeze a few more years out of my monster. Cupcake is getting the urge to upgrade though

Kinda what I was thinking, I'm only 30 mins from the shop in Laconia so it's not too far out of the way.
