I love it!! Lol you should be an investment anylist ! “Not too difficult “ I feel sorry for all those shmucks who wasted all there time on Ivy League schools and could not just see how easy it is to make 11.06%!!!
And to think all the people out there struggling to get a 2.5% return on there investment.

Here are more average people making far less than your “not to difficult “ scenario and all they are investing is $1,000,000.00 dollars a sum that everyone has ...right ??

What does that article have anything to do with the point you’re trying to make?

All good advise. Here is a different approach.

Call the dealer you know has your vehicle of choice. Ask for the manager. Tell them that you only want to work with the number one salesperson. Who is that? Tell them that you are not sure of my schedule this week, so that I don't miss them what days off do they have? Go in on their day off. The number one and number two salesperson will rarely have the same days off. Now ask for the top salesperson on the floor.

Tell that person you came in to see so and so but they have the day off apparently. Look at the vehicle, get a quote. LEAVE - you have to think about it.

BTW, my idea of fair pricing is 10% off base price, 50% off all the extras. Simple math.

You now have the top two salespeople splitting the sale. Set your price and wait them out. They should both be working the sales manager over to get the sale. It might take a few calls, but they will either meet your price or come really close.

Like others said, stick to the exact vehicle.

    Like, so many.
I went in super educated. I knew the package I wanted, the options I wanted, and I knew what I DID NOT want. They didn’t have the exact truck, but they built it for me.

That is why I used 6-8% in my first post on this. Plan for that, but in my case for 2017, my returns on the 2/3rds I kept invested were large enough to more than offset my monthly payments. That’s great, but I do not plan on that year over year.

I already invest a large amount of my income yearly. Both the wife and I contribute the Max allowable to 401k each year. We don't qualify for ROTHs due to our income but we both have traditional IRAs that we also max. In addition, we invest some monies into investments outside of our retirement funds.

Yes. I could have taken the $40k and invested it but as I said, we don't like to carry debt. It's a hold back from when we first started out. My wife and I are high school sweethearts. We had our daughter when we 18 and 20. We didn't have a pot to piss in and struggled for several years. However, we both put ourselves through school and made some good decisions along the way. We dug ourselves out of the hole and live a very blessed life. We believe it was through our set of values that we accomplished what we have so we don't waiver from them or our plan. It's worked for us for 30 years.

I'm using the costco auto program. I was able to specify exactly what I wanted in my truck and it's been very painfree. I'm probably not getting the absolute lowest price out there, but it's a more than fair price in my area and the lack of stress has been great.

I traded in my Tacoma 3 years ago and bought a Colorado Z71. Now in the market for a TRD Tacoma Pro. Are they selling with discounts? Just asking.

Havent come back yet. Just looking for a vehicle with a more aggressive look and more options. Im also considering the Denali Canyon. But for a truck at that price its missing a lot of features, (not to mention a phone wireless charger
that is useless on the iPhone 8 and X). Having said that I think the discount on the GM would be better. Ive enjoyed
driving my Z1. Its been mechanically sound for the past 3 years and is a comfortable ride.

Be mindful, if you purchase truck out of state, when you register your truck in CA, you will be on the hook for the difference in higher CA sales tax.

    None yet!
I will never deal with floor sales, talk to fleet sales. They just act more professional and will offer a better starting price to negotiate on.

I paid MSRP with the add ons that came from the factory. Like it or not. I walked in to the dealership in mid January and this is what they had allocated for a mid February build.
