    Center seat in the rear! Father of three here who has always owned a DCSB since having kids! Safest spot and allows for additional passengers to enter with ease. It is a little more difficult to strap the little guy in compared to if it was placed on the driver’s or passenger side

    I think "by law", if you only have one car seat, and it's for an infant, it has to be in the middle. At least that's how it was for me when my son was born.

    Congratulations! I have my car seat behind the passenger seat because I need my seat pushed all the way back (I'm 6'3”). That way I can have the passenger seat pushed forward to make it safe and leave room for the car seat.

    Center back seat rear facing. If you don't have a seat yet just find a base that fits the carrier the parents use. The wife and I bought one carrier and 3 bases. The one that came with it stayed in her car and then then both grandparents and myself had a base intalled in our vehicles ready to go. Very simple. Now I have a massive adaptive car seat mounted in the back and it drives me crazy! I'm ready for him to be forward facing but the general consensus seems to be keeping them rear facing till 5 years old...

    I think the laws very by state, but good point. I would check local laws, most police departments and fire departments offer car seat checks and can answer questions.

    That should work. I mounted mine to unistrut, so the bolts go out of the box into unistrut nuts. I just used washers reinforce the box, but it was sitting on the uni.

    Good point. Could vary by state. Forgot about that. I had the local PD install both of mine. Not messing with that stuff myself, especially since it affects the safety of my kids... much rather have a pro do it, and have it be done correctly.

    Our state law (CT) is that after 2 years old and over 40 lbs, they can be forward facing.
